cheapest midi controller/synth with arpeggiator

anybody know any? The microkorg works, but is a little too much. The akai is also pretty expensive

My local Craigslist always has Micorkorgs for sale cheap, maybe you can get one for a bargain there.

Or look for a used Yamaha CS-2x. Decent arpeggiator that's output to MIDI.

You got:

Microkorg
Micron/ Miniak
the akai mpk series
Yamaha KX series
Novation x station and xio

Yamaha KX 25 can be found for $100. Great arp.

What about the Roland PCR-800?

It may not have an arp, but any software program can ARP for you, like Cubase 3 or Reason 3/4....

So does anyone have an opinion about this midi only keyboard?

It sounds like a great replacement if I ever need one. I'm using an Alesisqs6.1 now (mainly for the PC in/out usability) and I rarely use onboard sounds anymore since I have such a huge bank of sounds on my hard drives.

The Roland offers many more controllers than my Alesis. I only have 4 controllers plus the standard Mod and Bend Wheels. I also don't know how to connect them to every VST.... The virtual Analog Factor is one of the few I've managed to get working correctly with the 4 controllers with ease. Mainly because it's automated. Love Arturia for that....

believe it or not, I don't use a computer live. Also, I work in protools. Reason has an arp but doesn't have midi out. I haven't been able to find a midi arpeggiator for mac and protools...

thanks for the responses, I'll look into those guys

Did you see the new Akai one?
LPK25 LAPTOP PERFORMANCE KEYBOARD
I think they are £50 here in the UK. So $80-90'ish?

yeah those look cool... but the bad side is that they don't have any midi ports. and they seem to come out in november, at least where I live.
