Juno 106 and Juno 60?

I currently have a Juno 106 but been seriously thinking about getting a Juno 60 also?
Would this be a stupid move?
Do these synths compliment one another or would I essentially be doubling up in many aspects?

No MIDI you'll need a DCB to MIDI if you want to trigger. Had both in the 80's. They have similar sound structure but are definitely unique, but if you can own both, go for it.

They are just about different enough (IMO), but if it stops you from buying a very different synth I wouldn't bother.

had both - now only have 60

juno 106
-portamento
-longer release envelopes
- more patch memory

juno 60
-arp - can be synced via sound source
-key hold button
-a little thicker sound

the juno 60 sounds a little more unique to me, thats why i still have it

I would say you don't need both really, BUT the 60 is worth getting. Compare the 2 and maybe keep the one you prefer (that will be the 60 )

The big thing has to be MIDI and CC control from the 106 which makes it instantly useable with any DAW setup.

The 60 has the edge sound wise. It has that wonderful chorus that total makes this synth ( sound pretty lame without it ) - With the DCB connection you'll be able to get the MIDI happening but only on a basic note on note off way. No CC midi stuff will happen.

I went for the 60 - and love it .

That's the dealbreaker for me!

Get a Roland HS-60, same thing as a Juno 106 slightly bigger sound than a 106 even though it's a 106 with speaker, you can close the speakers anyway with headphone adapater. Same midi capabilities... I don't get why no one recommends it. I guess IF you can find one. They are pretty rare now...

I dunno,.. I have friends that own multiple Juno 6/60's.. . seems silly but makes sense if you really love the Juno and want to track as much as you can live...

also, .. I've heard many Juno 6's . .and some don't sound alike... can't say the same about the 60.. they all sound the same to me (good tho.. of course)

I've said this before but... I really feel that if you have a Juno 6/60... it makes more sense to have a JX-8P instead of a Juno 106.

Sorry .. I know that doesn't fit your agenda.. but that's my opinion.

Always been curious of the HS-60 and what makes it unique sonically.. (a la MKS-7)

Had them booth before:

*Juno-60: Better sound (based on the VCO)

*Juno-106: Better features (the switch at the rear on III that enables MIDI/CC on everything)

So it depend on if it's the pure analog sound you're after or a convenient DAW setup.

Juno 60 is also a DCO. Still sounds nicer than the 106 imho but practicality is a big plus on the 106/hs60

Oh yes, I forgot - yes it's DCO. But it sounds warmer and has more bite than the 106. I agree that the 106 is practically in a DAW setup.

Im just saying you are not gonna get the same kind of intro bass like in B.o.B. - "Strange Clouds" which is a 106/HS-60 on a Juno 60... all the juno 60's fun seem to crap out before that range... IF you are making more contemporary music

look for yourselves here--->>> Roland Juno 60 VS Roland Juno 106 - YouTube

People say the reason why the HS60 is deaper than 106 is because of the extra signal path to power the amp sonically...

Also you can't see this in pictures but the faceplate of the Hs-60 is ALOT nicer than the 106.... the color scheme in person is like a big elephant in the room, it def. looks like it means business
