Thread Starter | My First Analog Synth.. I have been making electronic music for the past 6 years or so. I am also an engineer and a guitar player though so I have spent a great deal more on mics and other things. An analog synth was not justifyable to me when I have many many awesome soft synths, and many house and DnB producers stay in the box. I always look on Craigs List, and I saw a guy selling a Juno 106 for $400 bucks. After talking to him I dealed down to $280. I went to his place and he was the original owner. He has it since he was like 12 years old, and it was sitting in this huge 70's looking black box with straps that he said the synth originally came in. I opened up the box to see this pristine brand new looking Juno 106 with all voices working great. It looks like its brand ****ing new! ![]() I also worked in a Moogerfooger Low pass filter in the deal! Although on inspection when I got home it was broken, it can still be fixed. My mixes!!! Holy crap was i missing some real analog tone! Wow I love the sounds on this thing.. very retro and warm. Im hooked now.. I need a Mopho for some fat basses. | Nice one - all six voices working eh? Yea I also started with a Juno 106 and still have it. Even though I have a Jupiter 6 and some other lusty analogues. Very nice 'round' tone plus that Roland chorus is very much part of its tone. Only one DCO but still very versatile. Coming from softsynths it must be nice to reach over and simply adjust its panel directly ![]() |

Also the way the notes are played together is not the same either. With the Juno its kind of a wall of sound. When you use a soft synth it doesnt "stack up" like that. You can hear the individual notes too well. I've used Juno and Jupiter sample instruments before and that would be one of the things I find much different.. that and just how it reacts.Unfortunately now I have another slutty lust, and I already have a pretty large list of things to get ![]() | |
