Need advice on best mono and poly synth on a budget!!

hi peeps

I want to get my first MONOSYNTH, firstly not sure whether to try and get a vintage, such as Moog Rouge, Micromoog, Korg DS10, Roland sh 101 etc

or

a new synth such as Mopho, Evolver (mod or keyboard) futureretro xs, Doepfer Dark Energy or perhaps moog Little Phatty, my budget could never stretch to a Vogager or original Minmoog probably couldn't even stretch to a future retro, though I could pick up 2nd hand Little Phatty for around £500-550 pounds (I'm in uk)

Having listened to demos of all the above My preference would be a future retro i really love the sound, after that perhaps the evolver, both seem to have more PRESENCE than mopho and phatty..and have more hands on knobs etc.....

as for vintage i could pick up an old monophonic for £400-£500 with no midi etc, not sure if that bothers me or not, i just want something that sounds like the bollocks with tons of knobs but what about reliabilty? can't afford expensive repairs etc

Any advice with budget of £400 -500, perhaps a bit more what should i go for?

on a different but similar tack, I also want a POLYPHONIC and would like your views on digital v analouge v soft synths

I have an Roland sh32, my first hard synth which i am ambivalent about, maybe I don't really know how to use it but it almost always sounds harsh to me, its good for mad distorted screaming sounds but no matter what i so i can;t get a smooth effortless synth sound, to be honest my Arturia Moog modular soft synth sounds a milion times better to my ears, yes I know its only a soft synth but by god its impressive and you can always dirty the sound up with analouge effects, whereas I don't think you can do the opposite and smooth out a harsh digital sound, but maybe I;m wrong. So I will probably sell my SH32 but may give it another chance...

I have also listend to some old analouge synths like the korg poly 800 and they sound horrible mushy to my ears. Juno's sound good but they seem to have maintenance problems? I also don't want to get some old tank that weights 1000 tons like yamaha cs 80, not that I could ever ever afford one!! Nor do I want a 'workstation' I don't know they just don't appeal to me. I just want a decent sounding synth thats FUN with knobs and flexibilty

Thr blofeld sounds ( to me ) s bit glassy but interesting for weirdness, the clavia's sound nice but they lack a certain bite, Virus's are cool, but could only afford older models.

I want to bright clean analouge sound thats warm & smooth that has presense and I'm not sure where to go?

I know I could just get one synth that would be good for both poly an mono but I get the impression that really one would need at least one of either, so PLEASE help me out you lovely people! i've read so many threads and I value your opinion's and I already know its not a case of either or. But I can't afford at the moment to go out and buy 3-4 synths.

If I was to get one mono synth a one poly what should I go for (with or without keyboards), one which HAS to be analouge, probably the mono,
whats pairs of synths would complement one another...I'm not into dance really , I'm more into prog (yes, elp, rush, van der graff) funk/fusion (herbie hancock, weather report, brand x), krautrock (kraftwrk, neu), ambient (eno, budd, aphex twin) its atmosphere I want to create, fluid funky basslines, & textures, not shiny pop

sorry about the ramblings I hope someone out there understands where I'm coming from
