I would love to sample a lyre bird (or evn better a nightingale) and do all kind of weird things with the samples afterwards. Who would know if I transpose them 2 octaves down and layer them with some pad sound? Only poor birdy will sound like a T-Rex...

Well cool

I would love to play my 303 out in the jungle, so that for the next few generations at least, the Lyre birds could sing ACIEEEEED!

Is anybody else having problems with their Lyre bird cutting off the transients of 909 kicks?

Perfect analog sound; better than tape.
Too bad you can't retrofit it with MIDI

Just one of the reasons I love drawing inspiration through nature. That was incredible.

At the opposite side of the spectrum, i would love to train a lyre bird with weird synth sounds i've made and record what he makes of it...

Yup - that will be cool too. I wonder how are you going to take your lyre-sampler live though!

There is a large park near my house with a dedicated area with a bunch of bird houses. When you sit there you hear all these awesome birds. One in particular sounded really different and interesting. Like some kind of FM/additive synth but so much better. I wish I had a recorder with me at the time.
