Roland SPD-S Question

Hey all, I have a question regarding the Roland SPD-S sampling pad. Does anyone know how well it works for playing back non drum samples? Obviously I can load anything I want into it, but what I am trying to do is this:

I want my drummer to be able to play back sustained synth chords (so probably 6-7 second long samples) without glitching when he changes to a different chord. This is kind of hard to describe, but I want it to sound as though a human was just playing two alternating chords on a keyboard with enough release that they fade nicely into each other. Is this possible with the SPD_S? Is there a way to set up choke groups in this way?

Thanks a lot!

Hey mate
Ive been using the spds for ages now but I stopped using the internal memory cause my cfc crashed before a show and lost all my hard uploading and setting work!
Im now using it more like a midi trigger pad with Ableton Live and its awesome, no probs with fiddling and lengthy loading, its all in my comp.
But yes you can set it up to hit once for sample/loop on hit again for off and also can set up choke groups no probs so your drummer should be able to do all that you asked.
Bless
