Hey Everyone

I've had some enquiries about busting up the system. Yes, I'm open to selling or trading for the Kyma system with some cards, or just cards.

Thank you for your time.

Hey Everyone

Well, one more bump before the possible posting to eBay tomorrow.

After careful consideration, here is the prices for the Kyma system:

Basic Kyma $1600 US

- this includes free FEDEX Ground shipping (fully insured) for Canada, and the continental US. Anywhere else in the world would have to be discussed.

Kyma DSP Cards $350 US per card

- this includes free FEDEX Ground shipping (fully insured) for Canada, and the continental US. For the rest of the world, if you purchase 3 cards, you will get free shipping by Canada Post, fully insured, and of course with a tracking number.

Now, for a possible purchase of the Kyma system, and cards - this would have to be discussed, depending on how many cards, and of course, location.

Payment can be made by PayPal, with no additional fees.

Thank you time!

giving up on the Capybara/Kyma?

Just wondering why you are giving up on the Capybara/Kyma? It seems very cool.

Hey There

I'm definitely not abandoning the Kyma platform - depending on the auctions, I will be buying either a Paca or Pacarana.

My real problem in selling Capybara, is trying to replace the converters. Since 2006, I've been using the Capybara as my front end for my Logic Pro setup. I've been in the music business for a good 20 years, and I know (for me) it's going to be hard replacing those converters!

Thanks for your time!

Razor, how did you configure the Capy to be your front end for Logic? Were you using the AVC flame firmware and sending streams into Core Audio? Was the latency a problem?

thx,

You can use the capybara as the convertors for the paca/pacarana. Why not sell the cards and keep the capybara?

droolmaster0 hit the nail on the head, this is what a number of Capy owners are expected to do (according to Symbolic Sound): keep the Capy for DtoA conversion.... that's unless you require something a bit more portable or with more than 8 sets of outputs.

If you're lucky you'll be able to make enough for a Paca by selling the DSP cards alone.

Hey Everyone

How did you configure the Capy to be your front end for Logic?

Logic gives you the option of using it as an interface.

Were you using the AVC flame firmware and sending streams into Core Audio?

Yep, the Core Audio program/driver in Kyma works really well.

Was the latency a problem?

I've got the Kyma processing at 5ms (in & out), so I had to delay the tracks slightly...

You can use the capybara as the convertors for the paca/pacarana.

I realize that. My problem with that setup, is that the Kyma performs one calculation, then the Pacarana performs another calculation, which comes out to about 30 ms of delay I think. I was really hoping that the new Pacarana, and Kyma could some how DSP share, no luck! And the other reason, I'm selling my system, is that music takes me places, and I'm sick and tired of paying hundreds of dollars in overage fees at airports!

Thanks for your time!
