Power supply for Novation Super Bass Station.

Hi, a few months ago I moved house and studio. I have lost the powersupply that came with my Novation Super Bass Station. I really like that synth for bread and butter basses.

So, this is it. I am prepared to spend money to bring it back into service.

Do I get one from novation or just any powersupply about the same amp/voltage ? There is another thread here:

What's the deal with the Novation POwer supplies and the Super Bass Station?

-Where people are saying that the original power supply is stupid anyways.

Has anybody done this ? Maybe they could reccomend a universal-ish power supply that would work in this and tell me if they are running more amp/voltage or what not ?

Regards.

I'm pretty sure that mine runs (great) with a non-standard wallwart. It hasn't been powered on for some months, though.

Just looked at the original PSU here & it outputs 9v 600mA, so any universal wall wart that outputs 9v (switchable +/-), 600mA should work fine. If you don't mind paying the xtra cost though, I'd probably just ask Novation for a quote on buying an original.

I had to get one for a drum station I had years ago. The original replacements were very expensive.

I just got a multi adapter. It was the correct current rating. Had switchable voltage and had multiple connection heads you could swap on and off.

I did the same as Milsey for my BassStation, took a while to find the right one, Maplins I think, but it works fine no problems. The original was a huge cumbersome brick that weighted a ton.

My Drum Station wall-wart crapped out a few years back, so I replaced it with a 1Spot (from Visual Sound). 9V, - center, 1700mA. Has been working fine since.
Oh yeah, had to get a converter or something for it (might have been a polarity converter? I'm going from memory here..) Just small bit at the end of the line (like 2,5euros..).

I think the main problem is that the original PSU has a too low output (600mA) and it heats up and eventually breaks down.

Original SBS PSU (yes it is a big brick) has been plugged in for about 3 years here & doesn't seem to heat up. When I checked it to get the spec for the OP, it wasn't hot at all & that's the first it's been touched since it was originally plugged in a few years ago. Don't know why they didn't put an on/off switch somewhere on the rack though.
