Thank you for this! I've heard this track in my days, but I was never able to find who is the artist... It's the one that keeps ringing in my ears from time to time... playing for the 4th time now!

no worries i reckon you could still drop that and kill a dance floor even almost 15 years later.

He be a genius for his time he was ahead of people now even back in the early 90's

Not my cop of tea either.
Not sure if it's Techno, but I always thought the Sasha and Digweed stuff was well produced and contained a lot of interesting sounds:
YouTube - Bedrock - Heaven Scent - Classic sasha & Digweed!
YouTube - Bedrock - Set In Stone

Kinda hard to say people are ahead of their time when they are programming 16's on a sequencer and four on the floor drums.
Remember Moroder?

nope i was wrong,,very wrong

This is the best Techno track of all time,,I just found this, all i knew it was a dave angel played it first track of the set when he played a dreamscape rave !!!!!!!!

YouTube - Vapour space - Gravitational arch of 10

You really seriously need to llisten to this and dont fast forward and turn it up louuuuuuudddddd

3:26 thats a bassline 1993 as well

Last edited by digital 1010; 7th February 2009 at 11:52 PM.. Reason: dreamscape not obsession

Now lets add a bit of mc ribbz the best ever mc speed it up and let dave angel play it

YouTube - Dave Angel @ Dreamscape 28/5/93 Techno/Rave part 1.

I so miss the early 90's the last decent proper music, fashion and attitude movement was the rave scene and club culture nothing like that or punk,disco,glam,electro/hiphop/breakdancing has come about since then to change people ideals.

I remember when that track came out, very nice. The entire remix album was one 30 or so minute mix, very lovely... I saw Mark G (vapourspace) play live at the Joe Lewis arena in Detroit, but the acoustics were so bad I couldn't enjoy the music :(

While you are IDing tracks, maybe someone could ID this house track for me? It's been bugging me for awhile... YouTube - Crazy Multicolour Lasershow

cheers

Different eras!
I'm just saying....... you might love the LSG track, but to say genius and ahead of it's time you have to acknowledge the synth sequencer and disco beat had already been done a million times, albeit slower.
Yeah, I played drums on Whole Of The Moon.

YouTube - TROPE - AMPHETAMINE that was another classic too.

ill pretend i changed the title my favourite dance track ever as the lines of techno and trance blur for me and i cant be arsed to label stuff specific besides i wasn't exactly with it in 93

Although we had that thread recently hahaha

Yeah, I played drums on Whole Of The Moon.
I did say the man was, as in oliver Lieb himself not just the track I just think from a "TRANCE" point of view he was ahead of his time compared to other "Techno" Producers

Whole of the Moon-
Mate i love that album, even though i was a teenage tear away and doing things i shouldn't and listening to lots of "Trance" that album was always on in my house and always made me reflect.

Amazing amazing songwriting and pure passionate playing on that. Must have been really cool to be part of that

When I think Techno, I associate names like Joey Beltram, Speedy J, Marco Carola, Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Josh Wink, Lekebusch or even the more recent minimal stuff from Pig & Dan, Dub Fire, Guy Gerber etc.

Agreed, LSG, aka Oliver Lieb, has been making progressive and trance music most of his career. Techno should be associated only with the names you mentioned above.

However, having said that, I still enjoy much of LSG's music and one of my personal favourites of his is "Trains of Thoughts" ....

Lsg - Train Of Thought - Spike Videos - YouTube MySpace Video - Noolmusic.com
