| Lives for gear | ARghhhhh My S50 died
So I turn on my S50, (which hasnt been on in months) put it in patch play mode and nothing... Its totally dead. Anyone have any idea how to get these things going? Is there something dumb im missing?? ANY help would be awesome. I wanted to get some banks going on it tonight! Thanks guys in advance. alexP

If it turns on and you can poke around various menus, I would say that you´re definately missing something. Check all volumes. Check Midi local on/off. Check assignements of samples on the keyboard. WT

| That would be my first port of call if it is loading the OS from your disk. Are you starting it up with the disk in that you are wanting to load? Try a disk with just the OS on first, then load up patch by patch. In my experiance S-50 disks can poop out & sometimes you need to re-build the disk. Always save disks twice, I often back up just the sound data to a 3rd disk as well. I always have a few spare disks with just the OS on as well. |
