Software:

perhaps G force will unveil their mythical S.O.B Oberheim emulation?

Perhaps FXpansion will unveil their mythical D-CAM synth pack they have been working on (and Deadmau5 has been using and talking about for the last year...)

???

And, since we’re talking about NAMM and new products, you might ask, “What’s happening with the LinnDrum II?” Dave and Roger have been hard at work on the new design of LinnDrum II and now have a better idea of the ship date, which we currently estimate to be during the third quarter of 2009. We wish we could ship sooner but there's still a lot of work to do and it's important to us that we get it right. As a result, we don’t anticipate showing it—in any form—at the NAMM show. Thanks so much for your patience. We think it will be worth the wait.

I'm thinking its definitely going to be worth the wait, based in part on all the development that gone on with the various prototypes
since it was first announced as the BoomChik way back in 2007.

Any rumors concerning Moog Music? I’d really like to see them come out with some kind of polyphonic synth, like a modern Memory Moog, only better. I’m not ragging on their Guitar Synth thingy, but I would have really been excited about (and forked over some money for) a new memory moog. There are just not enough choices for polyphonic synths these days.

I'm hoping for a new Korg Electribe... like the EMX-1 or ESX-1 series, but updated with newer storage and better synthesis. Maybe a cross between the Kaossilator and the ESX-1 / EMX-1. Outside of that, new synths with built in sequencers. Stereo tube enhancers.

I'm really hoping that Korg would someday make a new Electribe ER series drum-groove-box. If it had user loaded samples + synthesis to create drum sounds, it would be fantastic. I'm hoping that this day will come and it will be during this years NAMM show.

Audio Impressions will be demonstrating the release version of their patented virtual instrument technology and high definition 70 piece DVZ Strings 2.0 sample library using a $50,000.00 FAR XM-Range digitally controlled active monitor system at The NAMM Show 2009 in Anaheim, CA. in room # 7801.

DVZ Strings 2.0 is a high resolution 70-piece string orchestral sample library that was meticulously recorded in London's finest studios under the direction of an award winning ASCAP Film and TV composer.

DVZ Strings allows you to produce the real-world balance of live musicians in real time without loading or unloading different samples. It is organized into sections that translate directly to fully accurate MIDI mock-ups as well as immediately playable scores with correct parts that don’t need exhaustive manual correction and annotation for articulations.

Enhancements in the latest version include re-mastered Strings; microtonal scaling for world music, key-switching options, 3 Decca Tree room mic selections, individual stereo outputs for each string section and AudioPort – a high-quality digital audio over LAN process which links PC’s to Mac eliminating the need for costly soundcards.

Future releases already in production will include DVZ Winds, Brass, Jazz Band, Guitars, Keyboards, and Pipe Organ, as well as Percussion and Drum Kit suites.

Audio Impressions' libraries are designed by a composer for composers who use computers to create music for film, videos, episodic TV, videogames, and live theater. They’re also ideal for music education. DVZ® Strings Version 2.0 will retail for $2499.00 MSRP.

Yeah, if that ever happened...... Watch out Elektron! I don't think it's in the cards though. Their plate is already full with maintaining the TI technology. I can't even fathom how many hours of tedious programming work goes into something like that. Trying to debug all the compatibility issues in dozens of DAWS for BOTH major OS platforms.... geeeeeez! It's taken them only a few years to get it extremely stable. An amazing feat from such a small company in my opinion. That's why I doubt we'll be seeing anything new from Access for awhile.

I have a feeling that this will be the last Namm for quite a few companies ...
This year will be very hard on everybody.

On the other hand... If you go to sweetwater.com and enter "Virus TI" in their search box, you will see that except for the Snow, the Virus is completely gone from their website. You can't order one.

So I wonder if we're about to see an upgrade at Namm.

Not going to happen. They still haven't finished all the code for the Blofeld. The Blofeld keyboard will be on display I'm certain...

I doubt Moog will have the Taurus pedals available. Weren't they taking preorders to see if it was worth making before? They might have a real rough prototype but that's about it.

i don't know if the pre-orders were to measure response (although it does make sense). All i know is that the first 100 or so pre-orders got quite a hefty discount!

Fair enough...then perhaps they can squeeze in some special drum oscillators into the TI? A nice clap wav, maybe snare / kick /hat algorithms ala phantom. *shrug*

I might be the only one here that does not want anything cool to come out at NAAM.
I need to save sum money!

When I spoke to Elektron for my company a few months back the rep was talking about something new. This was before AES so I am uncertain if he meant a new OS, which we have seen, or a new box.

We'll see.....
