Software that has all the Fairlight sounds?

I though I remembered hearing about a virtual synth that had all the original Fairlight sounds.

I'm on an 80's kick now and want those sounds!

Can't seem to find anything via google. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

There is a Sampling CD from Pro-Rec with all the samples of the whole Fairlight IIX Factory Library (About 30 US Dollar plus shipping)
Pro-Rec's Audio Sampling CDs

Yes! It sounds really good, you get Syclav,EIII,etc.

For 80's stuff I don't think there is anything better off the shelf out there.
The Pro-Rec stuff I believe is just audio wavs, right?

Lightbulb Thing is...

Man, I don't want to be "that guy," but I do have to say, the "Fairlight sound" is the Fairlight. (darn, I'm now "that guy".)

The samples themselves aren't anything special, it's how the Fairlight made them sound... I think even MORE SO in the case of the Synclavier, we're talking military grade (seriously) 100khz converters and some magic that made every sound sound like it was run through a million dollar Exciter.

That said... and to be positive, if you take those samples and play them on an Emulator II, you start to really capture the vibe. that's a great do-able option!

P.S. Oh, if you're looking for some of the classic Fairlight samples, many of them ended up in romplers you'd never think to buy, but are good prices, like the Kawai K1r... seriously!

Spot on!. I used to assist a producer who, while the rest of us were flying stuff around with S1100's, he'd lug his Fairlight III to sessions purely for "the sound."

And he was right. Sounded miles better than our Akais...

I have the *first* version of this CD (without notes or anything AT ALL). After visiting the page you mentioned I saw that they have included the notes as well. Thank God for that.

The quality of the recording ranges from very good to mediocre...

Jean Michel Jarre used 3-4 samples AS IS from this CD on the Zoolook LP, track 2, Diva.

The later Synclav library was issued as CD ROMs for Roland format samplers by Illio - The brass STINK ! the Strings are mostly lame but some very good Viola sections with a realistic portamento ( Bizarrely enough ! ! ) - the hidden Gem tho is the World percussion disk - Utterly Superb even by modern standards !
