switching between clip play & arrange play in ableton live

I keep getting into trouble after I make an arrangement and then start messing around with new clips. I'll be playing back an arrangement and everything is fine, then I'll go back to the clip view page, make a new clip on an existing track, and hit play. That works fine, now I have the arranged tracks playing their sequence of clips along with the new clip. But then, if i want to hear the old arrangement again, the track with the new clip will no longer play back the previously arranged sequence. Does anybody know how to switch back and forth between live clip page playback and sequenced clip playback in the arrange page?
