I have a desktop Mopho and find the Soundtower editor quite usable. The only real problem I had with it is trying to use it to merge controller data with editor data. I just juggled some stuff to do the merge downstream to avoid that.

no problems with the (free) soundtower editor here. The Rekon editor looks nice but $70!?! that's 2000's prices in a time with $0.79 iPad apps. For that money you might as well buy a decent midiinterface.

I notice something about the mopho i hate now, i put on headphones good ones, and any time i play a bass sound i notice a slight noise before the sound comes in. I recorded it and there is this slight noise before every sound is triggered. WTF.

you could always sell it...*hint hint* ![]() got some really good sales pitches thus far. ![]() when I press play on any synth I hear the sound instantly (probably about .4ms response time), how much time is there between when you press and you hear the font that you are able to hear another sound? that being said these devices are analog voices that run on voltages if you've ever played on old analog keyboard you may have noticed the punch/click at the beginning of certain fonts as the voltage ramps up to signal level, it's part of what gives analog synths their punch and charm. it could be some sort of grounding issue too, that's about all I got to offer. keep shinin jerm |

I know they added tap tempo and the addendum said it has bank font changes via Midi program messages.... What exactly is it on the Mopho you are wanting it to do that you can't get it to do? The thing seems pretty straight forward to me, send it your midi sequence and all the CC data it needs (the NRPN's are in the manual) and it will do anything you can do with software editor, I'm assuming you could use any Midi hardware controller with assignable pots (instead of their flaky software) to control all the Mopho's parameters while playing your sequence, you record these sweeps and movements onto a midi track as CC data, done, or if you are real handy with midi you could just program the CC's into the tracks by hand, but that is not for the novice. so what are we looking at hear? 2 bones? 250? ![]() keep shinin jerm

Nope, something i can edit from the synth. Mopho has the worst interface i have ever used on a synth. Sounds ok tho. Still i'm a roland and old moog nut. I want to try the pulse + again. |

| I don't understand. any device that has midi implementation can be edited by external means in real time, be that a computer, a Midi controller, a midi pedal, hardware sequencer, expression pedals, etc etc, and those sweeps and strokes, triggers stored as Midi tracks for another time. you could even get a Footar (like Moog Taurus) and play the thing like an regular midi synth rack, you just have to have enough hardware that is compatible to switch the other parameters in real time or have those changes playing along as a midi track. | sounds like it might be the control signal bleeding into the audio path.

IS this a flaw with all mophos? Or just mine? It reminded me of aliasing, its not bad like that, but it annoyed me and it was obvious when solo'd. |

if there is some parameter set somewhere that it cutting off another signal at the beginning it could come out as an audible click, crack, etc. You could attempt a factory reset, if that doesn't fix it than it's not a setting fouling up somehwere and you could start looking into other things, eg, ground issues. What is your monitor set up? are you pluggin the headphones directly into the Mopho? what else is plugged into the Mopho, what else is plugged into the same power source as the Mopho? process of elimination when it comes to ground based issues. keep shinin jerm

I am piggy-backing on this thread, hopefully someone will help me with this: I cannot get my Mopho to talk with the sound editor. I am using Mac OSX 10.6.8, M-Audio Uno, current drivers. I can send info to the Mopho, but cannot seem to receive, therefore whatever my Mopho is doing, Sound editor does not do. I successfully sent the latest Mopho OS to my desktop module. It could be as simple as setting the parameters for the Mopho in my Mac Audio Setup. I am ultra noob, and know nothing about MIDI, ports, channels etc. I am just learning about synthesis as well. If anyone can walk me through this, that would be great. I have read the manual about the setup, but since this is all new, it feels a bit overwhelming. Thanks. I wanted to learn how to play with this OTB, but I am a visual/kinetic learner and wanted to see what I was doing as well, so I downloaded the editor. |

| "Not Connected"
I'm having trouble getting my Mopho keyboard to be recognized by the Mopho LE editor. I'm hooked up directly to the computer via USB, and I've activated the IAC Driver in my Audio Midi Setup Utility program. When I click "test setup" in the Audio Midi Setup Utility and play a note on the Mopho keyboard, the Midi In arrow in the program lights up, so I know the computer is at least getting a signal from the Mopho. In the Mopho LE editor, I've got IAC Driver: Bus 1 selected for Midi In Port, and IAC Driver: Bus 1 selected for Midi Out Port, but it still says "Not Connected". Anyone have some insight? Thank so much!

Having problems with Mopho LE. Whenever I change any parameters on the editor, it doesnt affect the sound whatsoever. I have no idea whats going on as when I play notes on the V Piano I get the sound of the patch, yet nothing happens to the patch once I change some settings. Its getting on my tits to be honest ! Quick edit. Just realised that I had to press send to change the parameters. But as I cant hear changes in real time the editor seems a bit pointless |
