WANTED: Collaboration on new Electronica album (L.A. area/Santa Monica)

Here's the deal, I'm on a label for "Dirty Halo," but I am about to start work on a new (different from "DH") electronica album.

I own my own studio and am in the unique situation of moving soon, so the studio may be out of commission for a while if it is here. (So, finding a new location of its own for this project)

Secondly I've been craving finding a music partner to do an album together (for possible release on the label I'm signed to, or we go to a new label for this release).

I am primarily a vocalist, but in past Dirty Halo albums have done a majority of the keyboard, programming and engineering work (also lay down real bass parts and guitar... not sure if guitar is right for this project, but can be.)

Regardless, I've always been very collaborative, so I'm not that guy who wants to do everything. In fact, I'd prefer to partner up with a strong electronica guy. A fellow artist.

The idea is to rent space for just this project and put my studio in there.

Then together, we produce an album.

Secrecy Studios has a solid Pro Tools based system with a pro-level set of outboard, console and extensive collection of synths, drum machines and instruments (love to get to know you and could then go over what we have to work with.)

Album to be mastered at Bernie Grundman (they did the last few releases, but interested in other options too)

So serious studio ready to go as soon as I find a partner, we get space and go.

I want to put out an album like Justice, Crystal Method, Grey Area, Fragile State, Hybrid, Fluke, Underworld... (only using those as reference points)

BUT, with abstract male vocals... my tone and vibe (no ego here, really, just trying to give you an idea) ala Jim Morrison.

(Oh yeah, own a Wunder CM-7 (U47, works well on my voice). Also a vintage Klauss modded U87, Pearlman, and a few others.

Sooooo... who wants to make an album with me, a hard-hitting to Chill electronica album with Jim Morrison type vocals?

COULD lead to long-tern signed project.

This would be a true 50/50 collaboration.

I'd bring a serious studio to the equation, my part in the talent (Only negative. Ha! along with your talents. I'd find a studio space that works for us both.

We set it up for how we both like it for this album.

I need a fellow artist who would be interested in composing and engineering with me.

Someone who also knows Pro Tools and can engineer as well as be a composing partner.

Anyone interested?

Post any interest here or PM me or feel free to call direct (310) 773-6361

I know this sounds unique, but it could be a very cool studio and artist partnership!

Looking to do this VERY soon, in fact, as soon as I find the right partner!

-Andrews Jenkins

(Feel free to Google me, if you want legitimacy assurance... you'll see my Dirty Halo credits, as well as feature film work, oddly, I also direct features. Just FWIW, I ONLY cite this so you know it's not some lark )

NOW ya got it! (Come one, getting cold in the Netherlands about now, come on over to sunny L.A.!!! )

Thanks for the compliment, I actually took my studio list down... no need to advertise gear!

But, still hopeful there's a fellow artist out there who wants to work with a great studio and slightly less cool guy (that'd be me) to buckle down and do a proper album... kind of a unique situation and opportunity.

How IS the weather in the Netherlands?

I imagine it would also be an opportunity to learn a lot from you DH. Even if I was the guy, I just can't up and leave my work & family at this time. I would still enjoy some kind of collaboration with ya or production work, even a remix would be awesome. Lemenoe. popbott@yahoo.com Thanks!

Thanks! And yeah, that could be quite cool actually, I'd love to collaborate, a remix or whatever works for ya.

Maybe I can take the tracks to album mix stage and then see what you like (if you like) and then have you do a remix before I go to mastering. Then include that in the same mastering session... hell, it could replace the album version!

I perfectly understand the work and family commitments, how about I bug ya when I get to a point worth sending you?

Just let me know (are you Pro Tools or Logic? ...doesn't matter, stems for any platform really)

Anyway, thanks for the interest!

And to the rest of the folks out there... still looking for someone, come one, come all... I know this sounds a bit insane, but what the hell!

That sounds great DH. I mainly sequence outboard and transfer to Protools later. One of my strengths is taking a simple idea and (hopefully) make it better by adding some of my own production techniques. Please feel free to check out some links:

I'd also like to send you some newer remix work via e-mail sometime. Very interested and sounds like fun. Thanks again!

If I could, I'd go to YOU... get out of this crazy country. I wish! Funny you should say that, I've always heard the same thing (Riders on the Storm), actually Infected Mushroom did some cool remixes of it (Never been able to get a hold of them, just heard them).

Wish you ere here, wish even more I were there.

Cool. I am sure something can be sorted out at some point. I´m trying to do as much as possible and collaborations sounds good to me.
Right now though, unless teleportation has appeared without me knowing it, I stay on the ground!

Probably be easier to find the right person by just emailing stems?
