Good place for finding Aca's and vocal snippets?

I don't really need whole songs because I don't do vocal-heavy stuff, just things to chop up- classic dance/electronic vocals, speeches, lectures, or other weird stuff to sample, etc... I used to get a lot of stuff off P2P, but quality is often lousy anyway...

Any tips?

Theres a site called acapellas4u which has a large selection but you have to register and then get only 5 downloads a month

If you want a particular acapella it never hurts to search for it on google, in the past ive had luck finding stuff this way as there are hundreds of forums and blogs dedicated to acapella sharing

I also found a 7" of the velvet underground in an interview, some cool stuff on there. And you can find timothy leary and aleister crowley type speech/lecture things on vinyl as well.

My point being: Vinyl sampling isn't just about the funk breaks.

I think I heard that Churchill speech in an old Iron Maiden song....Aces High I think?
I also have some Timothy Leary samples that are cool but afraid to use them....arent these things copyrighted?

Thanks Dr. Wu.

I also discovered there are a few hundred pages of acapella's in the DJ Tools Genre section of Beatport. But yah, my guess is they wouldn't be 'royalty free'... but I'm not looking to do a full-on vocal mix any time soon anyway, its more just atmospheric clips/snippets/lines...

timbreman, a Churchill speech would i think be public domain. Laws vary by country, I know for books copyrights last at max 70 years after the life of the author... I'll have to ask a lawyer friend abt old audio recordings, that is a good question on whether public speeches from 30-40+ years ago are copyrighted or not... probably the more obscure, the better.

I'm sure there are books/websites with more info on the subject, I'll have to look into it...

Well I found this useful link and seems to be no mention of copyright anywhere on the page.
