How to setup Euphonix Mc Mix with ableton?

Hi all,

I'm having trouble getting my mc mix running with ableton 6.
Couple of questions:

- Do you need to have the green euphonix icon thingie running? I'm guessing no, since that's only for eucon.
- Start up the mc mix first, then ableton? Or doesn't it matter?
- In live, in the midi sync tab, choose Mackie Control? Or Mackie Control Classic of XT? Then, which midi input/output do I chose? Do I need to set takeover mode? Which midi ports should I switch on?

That's alot of questions And I've tried em all already, but nothing works!!!

Help!

Kind regards,

Nicolas

Always turn on the MC Mix then Ableton.
I use MC Mix with Logic without problem.

It still doesn't work. Anybody have a clue which midi port you have to set for both input/output?

Euphonix MIDI (Euphonix port 1)
Euphonix MIDI (Euphonix port 2)
Euphonix MIDI (Euphonix port 3)
Euphonix MIDI (Euphonix port 4)

?

And does the green euphonix icon thingie need to be running?

Hey guys,

I found it. Turns out it was in the manual all along, I just didn't see it cause I was skipping whole chapters with the "next" button in preview on mac, instead of pages. So I just missed the whole thing. Sorry for the pointless thread!

Mods, you may close this up if you want to!

Hi bro!

Can you please explain how you eventually hooked up Ableton with your MC Mix? I read the manual and the applicaiton set up guide and I still didn't manage....

Cheers

Loudmouth, I don't quite remember anymore. I sold the mc mix not too long ago as I'm using Live more and more and it's a bit of an expensive piece of kit just for motorised faders. With Logic on the other hand, you can edit heaps more... Anyways, I think if you follow all the steps you should be fine, just keep in mind that you have to start things up in a particular order, because eucontrol is pretty fussy about that! If I remember correctly: start up your mac and let the eucon driver start up fully before you start anything else!!! The it's either: start live up fully, and only then mc mix. Or the other way around, first mc mix fully, then live.

Good luck!
