Zebra2 or Pob Papen Predator

Which One delivers more punch?Zebra or Predator?Anybody have both or are they redundant?

Both of them are awesome, but are completely different kind of beasts.

Zebra is a semimodular synth, in which you can draw your own oscillators, have some amazing filters in your hands, and can achieve almost every sound you have in mind.
Predator is more in the "vintage analog" side, but can achieve some pretty damn good modern electronic sounds and some great "fat" tones as well.

If it's going to be only one, then zebra has my vote.

zebra is deep beast, great sounding, but I really prefer the sound and ease of use that Predator offers. Both developers offer great support. why dont you download the demos?

I love zebra, theres an amazing wealth of sounds you can get out of it, from super clean to super crunchy. but its not easy to get your head around at first.

Hey all ;Thanks for the responses!
I have heard both demos and they both sound pretty great really.
Sounds like the Zebra is offering up some xtra programming options! The price is certainly right for both of these.
Now i'm wondering if i should just wait for omnisphere!

Another tip to make choosing a bit harder

Circle FAW
Start - Future Audio Workshop

The fun thing about this modular synth that editing and creating your own sounds is made easier than ever before. They use a color scheme to connect different modules to eachother. it works pretty straight forward, simpler than Zebra.

I assume we are talking about synths in a 149-199€ price range here..

Out of those two I'd absolutely go with Zebra2, but I would also consider NI Massive.
You must ask yourself what are you really after?

I was also looking for something is this ballpark and after great consideration and comparing ended up getting a Waldorf blofeld... I must say I like it very much and I know it is going to 'outlive' all of these plugins.

I demo'd Predator for a while, but never really came back to it. It seemed good for pads and nice sounds, but wasnt punchy at all to me. I got Massive when i upgraded to Komplete 5 and it is a killer synth, from bass through to electric piano type sounds.

I own both Predator and Zebra2. I definitely think both synths are great and hold much potential. If I had to pick, I would say Zebra has more character and range than Predator. Zebra is amazing and can generate sounds that others soft synths can't. Predator is a pretty standard soft synth much like many other Virus clones.

Demo both.
