Waldorf Q Rack Vocoder (analog vocoder)

Hi Everyone,

Did anyone ever got good results out of Waldorf Q vocoder? I just can not get it to be crisp enough... Any advice?

Also, what would be good (affordable) stand alone vocoder? Is Microkorg realy that good for it as people say? Are there any analog vocoders still being made?

Thanks,
Peter

Never tried the Q, but for good affordable vocoder you've got 2 choices:

Roland SVC350 - these can still be found for decent prices.

FAT Procoder / MAM VF11 - the same thing with different labelling, really decent.

MS2000 / Microkorg is not that intelligible but usable for some applications.

With any vocoder you have to really enunciate your consonants hard for best results.

Nicest one I had was the EMS2000, very easy to get a great sound but will cost you £$£$£$ these days.

The korh vocoders are shite IMO. The EMS is real nice.
One of the best is the Clavia Modular. Very clear and incredibly rich sounding. You can pick-up a micro modular quite cheap as well..
