Clavia Nord Lead 2

does anybody have one of these? if so, what type of music do you write and how does it fit in with what you do?

i've heard this synth can mimic the Mini-Moog, as well as a Roland Jupiter...can anybody back this up?

also, where can i hear one of these at work? what bands? albums? your band/your album?

I have a Nord Lead 1. I used it for 6 years and will sell it soon.
It's an amazing synth and I love it to death but I will have to let go of it because it's starting to sound same same to me recently. I've pretty much made every sound possible on this thing

But as soon as I will miss it I'll get it back again.
Though I'm sure it'll be the next 303 and I'll regret the sale

If you are in Germany, Europe or whereever and want to buy it (great condition, studio only use) hit me up.

My music usually consists of FM-farts and knocky bassdrums both of which the Nord will do extremely well thumbsup

I did own Nord Lead 2 some 6 years ago or so. It was a fine synth with very quick, easy and intuitive UI.

The synth sounds a bit cold and isn't the fattest synth on the market, but the sounds are very versatile and cut through the mix really well. If you're looking for a versatile synth, then this might fit the bill. If you're looking for massive basses and big unison/hypersaw kind of sounds, this synth might not be the best one available for the job.

About what kind of music I write:
I actually write anything between classical to industrial to guitar pop, so the musical genre question might not help you with my answer

It does not mimic a Minimoog very well in terms of sound, but the controls are very similar in the programming style to a Mini. It can mimic the sound of a Prophet 5 pretty well as all the Prophet 5 presets are embeded into a bank on all Nordlead2's. I wouldn't say it sounds as "big" or "phat" like a Prophet, but it does hold it's own. I have had my Nordlead2 for over 11 years and it has never let me down. You can hear it all over my tracks on my homepage. It is simply a workhorse in my arsenal of synths and can't see myself without one. I dunno about it sounding like a Jupiter, but it has officially replaced my Juno-106 many times over. Still use my Juno, but the Nord always takes the lead. Awww man, I just caught it! No punn intended!!! Lol!!
