Jomox 999 users!

Can anyone tell me how to set up split mode with the kick so that it can be assigned to a keyboard? Thanks

To be more specific I followed the instructions in the manual on setting up split mode but it does not seem to save the setting when I select them. I can play the Jomox with my midi controller but only in SM1 mode were the instruments are assigned to individual keys starting at C1 for the kick. You are supposed to be able to set up SM2 mode and spread the kick across the key board at witch point you can set infinite decay and play it like a bass synth>

i've been trying to figure this out with my 888. I posted a message once to the jomox user group. I will try again. If you figure it out, send me a PM.

Hey! Yeah my issue is that when I set the scale parameter to SEM and then press enter it seems to reset itself back to Linear mode. I spent about 4 hours trying to figure it out last night, MAJOR HEADACHE! I did set up the LFO for the first time though which was kinda cool. Used it to modulate the Kick Drum pitch. I know this 999/888 is capable of some awesome shit but no one seems to really understand how to use the thing!

OK. So I just got an E mail from Michalis -

"SM2 is not implemented yet, sorry.
as long this isn't done, use the bd pitch CC in SEM mode."

Well shit. If you figure out what that means let me know.
Thanks

instead of using keyboard to play bd, use keyboard + midi controller knob/slider

or if you are sequencing, anytime you are sequencing C1, be sure to send midi continuous controller msg XYZ (aka cc) for basedrum pitch as well to get different tones.

so
Piano roll:

Code:
   A B
   1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 2.1 2.2 2.3 2.4
C1 xxx --- xxx --- xxx --- xxx ---
CC 064 000 065 000 120 000 112 000

Thank you. However I will willingly admit that I am absolutely ignorant about Midi commands and how to do anything of that nature> Is there another window in Logic that lets you do this sort of thing?? Were in the piano roll can you specify this sort of thing? Thanks

i haven't tried this so grain of salt:

check out pg 87 of the pdf manual. there you should see the Controller no.

then, in logic, go to, whats it--hyper editor. double click on say modulation and set "TO"->"NUMBER" from 1 to whatever the controller number is. Then, click and drag vertically on beats to set the pitch.

There might be a different way to do this using a physical keyboard, environments and/or controller spinning, but that is one approach.

OR...use pattern mode on the jomox and set each kick beat to a different pitch / tune etc. I think thats how its meant to be used.
