Presonus Live- Studio Mixer

Hey guys,

There is this new Mixer from prosonus that looks freaking amazing.

PreSonus

16 Channels, 4 subgroups, and on top of that a 'compressor, gate,eq,limiter, and i believe effects' on each channel...thats apart from the obvious panning and gain faders (100mm!!) ...

My question is this:

I expected a price of a mixer with these functions A LOT higher than $2000, but it seems thats what its appearing for. So im guessing the quality of those processors may not be the greatest.

1) Ableton + UAD Ultra Pak + 2X evolution UC33e (or any controller)
2) Ableton + This mixer

Which would you pick?

Thanks!

Dunno, looks cool and the features look good. Wondering how good the summing or "big" it sounds. "32-bit floating point processing" is the same as Protools LE and that summing is questionable. Wonder how it compares to an older version Yamaha 02R. Nice find n**N.

studio live 16.4.2

i too have been looking at this product and i agree, it sounds too good to be true. i've read some reviews at musicians friend they all sounded good. but at the same time, they sounded like salesmen. i want to talk to a few people who own one and hear some honest critiques.post if you hear something.

Presonus LiveStudio

Contact seller "cphonic" in EBAY. He builds out studios and has used 16 and 24's on a number of installs.

I agree, I want to see some actual reviews and 3rd party test numbers. The pres in this thing have got to be junk. The only thing presonus that I really can use without shooting myself in the foot is the ACP88 for basic soft knee line compression of the romplers and drum machines in the room and comp/gating DI'd guitars before modeling. Their preamps though at least the ones I've used, total yuck zone.
