Akai S950 Help

On the MPC 2000XL, and I would imagine other mp's , you can toggle between mono, poly and note off. Mono being the sample plays all the way through when you hit the pad but starts at the beginning if you hit again before it's through. How do you make this happen using the S950? The parameter settings on the MP have no effect so I'm guessing it's something I have to do on the S950. I can get the sample to play all the way through but when I hit the pad again the sample just overlaps. Hope I explained good enough. Any suggestions?

Give the sample it's full release on the sample edit page.
If it doesn't have a high 'release' value, it will stop playing as soon as you take your finger off the note that's triggering it.

Right, I've figured that out, but I want to have it so the sample will start from the beginning every time I press the pad on the mp, just like 'mono' on the mp, without overlapping

I think you have to manually assing it to one of the voices. I sold my s950 years ago, but recall it being pretty simple and intuitive, keep looking, it's not that hard at all

I agree, I've only had it a week and some change and have figured out pretty much everything
else It's just this one thing that's giving me a headache, I use that feature a lot on the mp

i believe if you manually assign it to a voice, it should work, please let me know, i'm curious myself...what made you decide to get the s950....has a cool high end boost on the input for sampling, i often found myself not sampling at full rate fyi
