anyone else out there really liking the new moby. I don't think it's groundbreaking, but a really great sounding, original CD ala moby. The electronica, techno, what ever you wanna call it genre seems so nameless and faceless a lot of the time, and i'm really digging this right now. Moby to me seems to hit you with the heart whereas BT seems to hit you with the computer, if that makes anysense. I Like the way it's trying to capture the new york nightlife club scene from his perspective. First song is so ABBA |

Just listened to it on iTunes. All I can say is: The 90s are back! I'm not a big fan of dance music (or Moby for that matter), I thought "Play" was a step in the right direction but I don't know about this one. BT I think is an insane programmer that doesn't put out anything that seems to move me, except for "This binary universe" which I think is his best work by a thousand miles. EDIT: Yeah, it's pretty much shit. |

I think this album is really lame. Poor 90's recreation which actually turned into self parody- also soundwise. One good hook in first piece is really not enough for a whole album. Beside this guy repeats himself on each and every album- somebody please steal his string synths, cause I cant stand it anymore. cheers <M |

Don't like Moby. And believe me when I say I know my dance music. He expired long ago.

Moby's first record was great. This one... No.... BT was good, when he had those big beautiful epic trance tracks in the late 90s... Flaming June is still a killer imo. alexP

Live he is great - I went to his Spring Break PAnama City gig about 8 years ago- he really rocked for more than two hours. But as for albums I agree - Play was the last sensible thing he did. M |

I REALLY loved Hotel, really showcased his songwriting as opposed to just techno. I also liked the very similar album that followed, with stars. I just thought this new album had a cool retro feal, was fun, and had the new york late night club vibe he was looking for....I thought I'd post here for some moby love, had no idea they were all haters and mainstream play fans

didn't buy it . sounds older than his first stuff and i live in 2008. he was great live when he was opener for front 242 in the early 90ies but that was way before his commercial breakthrough.

Moby sucks...Seems like a nice guy though. He really weathered that Eminem debacle quite well too.

You can find it pretty much on all TG or SY series(I think Moby is using the SY-85) Pet Shop Boys have used the same preset on a few of their songs as well Cheers

![]() A lot of stuff sounds old. I've never really been into dance or techno. How 'bout some modern alternatives to Moby? I know Moby's stuff, but this album kind of makes me feel like I'm in a gay 90's club. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) I like what Moby has done. I'm going to give it some listens before rejecting it outright.

I just figured moby was respected around here and am surprised he's not, nothing wrong with opinions, they're likd A**holes, everyone has one, and at the end of the day music(and all art) is completely subjective
