MIDI Ribbon Controllers

So I'm thinking about getting a ribbon controller for both playing "keys" and controlling effects.

Is anyone using the Doepfer? Any comments? I saw that Kurzweil also made one, but those look to be the only options other than DIY.

Well... The one we all REALLY want is Haken Audio - Continuum Overview but it's a little hard to justify something that costs as much as a used car and doesn't even make noise....

kaoss pad 2? gives u 2 dimensions at once, which can sound cooler than 1 dimension IMO, but it's probably a smaller surface so maybe sweeping through the cc range with less nuanced control than a longer ribbon.

yeah i was thinking about the kaoss pad too, but i think it will be to small for playing notes. good for effects sweeps though.

I'm buying a Doepfer R2M myself. Outputs cv+gate and midi, it's pressure sensitive, pretty configurable and it's affordable.

YouTube - "Once Upon a Time in the West" with DOEPFER R2M

Great playing in that video.
