something like an ada8000 but better

Hi,

I had one of these behringer ada8000s and sold it when I downsized my hardware. Now, I am one over the limit and may need an analog to adat converter to utilize the 8 channels of adat on my yamaha i88x interface. I was thinking of just getting another i88x but these things are REALLY hard to set up when it's more than one so I don't think I'll do that.

I want something that simply takes the 8 line signal channels (or even 4 would do it) and spits out adat. I don't even need mic pres because the i88x has two great ones and I use those for one mix and the mono output of an older analog synth I have.

Any advice would be appreciated. I am open to boutique boxes. Hoping to stay under $500.

I don't need preamps for mics. I just need line input to adat lightpipe out. That's it. I don't need mic pres. I know there are a ton with mic pres but that's overkill for me.

And it's discontinued :-(

I am certain there is something out there of high quality. Who else knows something?

Here are a couple of eight channel converters with ADAT and no mic pres:

RME: ADI-8 DS

And of course there are several more if you can use AES, like this:

Aurora 8

Not sure if these have hit the street yet, but looks like it's what you might want:

APHEX Systems 142 8-Channel A to D Converter
