moaning!! Imac G5

I just don't know wut to do....I had my first "electronic album" almost mixed and "mastered" - all done by me, myself and I, and the computer locked up into a blue screen while the fan ran audibly fast......it's been humbling to say the least.
I've got everything covered and my work is all good in the hood! - meaning I will release my homemade musings soon.

But what do I record on now? Suggestions would be great and I'm seriously thinking of getting a decent tape machine....or perhaps an older and cheaper computer to at least run Ableton on...

Peace out, hope you all are enjoying music.

Hi!
There was some production screw-up with some of the imac G5's.
I think it was some bad transistors for the graphic card on the motherboard(no, I'm not a computer geek). Anyways this mistake made them stop function after about two years and a symptom was the fans speeding up like crazy. If your imac is within some certain serial number(check on apple's site or forum) you are actually entitled to a free repair even if it's past the guarentee. Good luck!

I had one of those bad imacs..... Apple replaced the mobo 2x, and the powersupply 3x. It would still basically crash and the fans would run at full bore until it was hard rebooted. Now I'm on a MBP, and happy to have a machine that doesn't crash all the time from hardware issues.
