Novation XioSynth or Waldorf Blofeld

Hi,

I have £300 to spend on a synth and I was wondering if I should buy either the XioSynth or Blofeld as the two synths have an impressive synthesis feature list for the price they are going for.

The only problem is that my local music store only stocks the XioSynth and have stopped selling Waldorf products. If I want a Blofeld then I will have to order via the internet which means I cannot try before buy. The nearest store that has a Blofeld is 100 miles away.

Anyway which one should I buy.

I'd pick up the Waldorf before the Novation, but that could just be my taste. I have 7 Waldorf products and 2 Novation, I wouldn't lose any sleep over losing one of the Novations but would walk the streets endlessly to locate a lost Waldorf.

Here's my folder with some Blofeld audios, partly with drums from Stylus RMX: Index of /files/blo

And 3 really bad arp sounds: http://www.trippler.net/files/blob/largoinblo.mp3

The demos were made with a preseries version that has a high pitched noise on its audio out. The series versions don't have this noise.

blofeld blofeld blofeld

if you don't like it, surely a new purchase at 400 euros would be returnable?

I like what I hear so far.

If I was to buy a Waldorf Blofeld now, would it be the preseries version or the actual series version?

Please advise

You'd get a series version of course.

The few preseries versions went to the betatesters and sound programmers before the final production started.
