I've been listening to a lot of Jackson and His Computer Band. He's probably my favourite artist at the moment. His album Smash is just so great. He also did a very very good remix of an M83 song called "Run Into Flowers." Look it up if you can.... I just got off a huge Justice kick too. But was turned off of them after I saw them in Montreal. Great music though... I'm also a big Mum fan. I just saw them a few months ago. I was slightly disappointed with their performance. the last couple of times i saw them were amazing though. |

I have not been listening to a lot of new electronic music lately... mostly because I don't get the chance to hang out with my DJ friends and see shows with a more domesticated life these days... poor poor excuse, I know, gotta change that, except now I'm moving out of NYC for several months - if someone knows the pulse of music in Honolulu, let me know, although I'm not expecting much. Anyways, last real quality stuff I heard was Nautilus "Are You an Axolotl" and "Sketches" but these do not resemble anything new... been out 5+ years now? Can someone suggest something that I should check out today, taking into account that this is what I thought was the penna cotta of electronic several years back? |

The Radiohead discbox and the NIN Remix vinyl both came in the mail while i was away. Should be a good start for a bit of fun listening.

yes to everything listed above!!! in hopes of adding names that most haven't heard these are friends of mine that make really good stuff... richard devine - autechre-ish with his own acidy death metal spin on it. http://myspace.com/richarddevine elijah b torn - dj shadow-ish with lots of processed electric bass http://myspace.com/elijahbtorn kamoni - produces house records, but check out the live DnB drumming videos http://myspace.com/kamoninyc crunc tesla - ummm. just listen. trust me. http://myspace.com/crunctesla kudu - live glam electro? whatever, they f'n rule. always have. http://myspace.com/kudu arms of gandhi - wicked remixes, and i helped build his awesome friggin studio. http://myspace.com/armsofgandhi overclock orchestra - well that's me. and i recently took down all the music on myspace, mixing this month a full length, so just bookmark this one for future reference ![]() http://myspace.com/theoverclock and they migh tnot be friends of mine, but i still recommend Justice to anyone that likes daft punkish stuff. They are my new favorite this year. That's all for now, keep em coming!!! - b |
