not my cup of tea, but crappest since forever is a bit deep. there's so much shittier shit out there than these guys its not even funny... to inject a bit of productiveness in the midst of all this, heres Agoria's set at Sonar this year. to my tastes it was the best of the festival... good times brothers, good times. I personally think they make a good point... We should all be exactly like Justice and only buy gear and live as they do.

| Lives for gear | Forum Justice? A genuine point...
Im really interested why people seem to take such umbrage with Justice and genuine (not joke) Justice posts. First of all - I dont particularly like Justice. They have done a few remixes that I thought were cool - but I wasnt mad about the album. However - its pretty difficult to watch the live shows and deny that it rocked pretty hard. And there are so many acts out there FAR far worse than Justice. I dont particularly like the characters or their image - which one described around here as 'nihilistic' which I thought was pretty apt. However the full scale Justice bashing that goes on is pretty surprising and to be honest quite tedious. Why people feel the need to do it is an interesting question. Its similar to Deadmau5 bashing. I must say having an abundance of noobs asking questions about "how to get the (insert latest big thing) sound" can get old fairly quickly. However the reaction to this - lets be honest - minor irritation seems to be disporportionate. Lets look at the positives. Acts like Justice open electronic music up to a much bigger crowd. Its very possible that through them there will be new listeners of other electronic music. SO a new act is more accessible and brings in a new crowd. They are not gonna be into Justice forever and tastes change. I think slinging disparaging comments to youngsters who want to learn production is pretty poor behaviour and IMO it reeks of elitism and snobbery which is most likely unjustified. Unjustified because in my experience the biggest snobs are the ones that have the least reason to be. I will be honest and say I personally think its quite sad to see people feel the need to belittle and mock new sounds and types of music that become popular that they dont like. It makes me think that some people around here are quite close minded and/or stuck in the past. There will be new acts coming through all the time and you have a choice whether you want to alienate yourself or try to understand what younger generations are listening to. Im not saying you have to like it. However forming faction threads and administering public stonings is a surefire way to discourage people. That is the type of thing that gives forums a bad name because people are afraid to talk about their favorite act or ask questions for fear of being mocked and abused. Im making the point that I like Gearslutz a lot and have got a lot out of it and learnt much from the generous users here. My preference is for 'Electronic Music' to be a liberal and an open community receptive to newcomers whatever their tastes. And that regular forum users either ignore or try to remain calm about posts regarding popular acts that are not to their taste. |

1) A hangover. 2) Reheated leftovers from Daft Punk's breakfast. 3) A "scramble" of chopped-up meat, veggies, and eggs, that have been rearranged to create something totally different and new. It could have been an omelette with a side of potatoes, but it's not. And it's served on a square plate, not a round one. The chef's decisions during the creative process make this breakfast what it is. Sure, technically he didn't lay the eggs, cure the sausage, or grow the vegetables, but he did decide how to prep and mix them, and how much salt to add. 4) Two bowls of cold cereal, hiding behind a wall of empty steam tables, braziers, heat lamps, ice baths, serving platters, an antique wood-fired stove ("lit" with an orange lightbulb), an unplugged waffle iron, and an imposing stack of six hundred carefully folded cloth napkins. 5) H.O.T. C.R.O.S.S. B.U.N.S. 6) French toast. Duh! 7) The same thing all Parisians have for breakfast - a cigarette! 8) Trick question. The French do not eat your stinking "American breakfast". Stupide touristes! This is why the people of your country are so fat, but it does not explain why you insist on visiting Paris wearing white undershirts, plaid shorts, and plastic sandals. Is it acceptable to dine in a fine restaurant in dirty underwear in your country? Mon dieu. Here is a demitasse cup of coffee, a tiny spoon, a miniature loaf of bread, a pack of unfiltered cigarettes, and a magnifying glass. Now go, or I shall taunt you a second time-a! |

Yes sir, I am sick of all these garbage 'joke' threads. One or two is all right but really. ![]() I am NOT a fan of justice or deadmau5 either. Detroit techno and early 90s are my thing. But given that Justice are European (France) some people are asking genuine (if not ridiculously simple) questions about gear - in a gear forum of all things - when their mother tongue is not english. Myself I speak three languages fluently and hate bashers .So stop with the stupid threads. |

A thread called "Forum Justice" looks and sounds at first glance like a proposal by a French-as-first-language-speaker to open an entire forum especially for Justice-related threads! Now, some around here (and I'm inclined to agree with them) would think that that would be taking things too far.

| Lives for gear | where this slut stands well i can tell that i was just being silly. so many sluts are having a reaction against this shit now. i do have a negative opinion about these guys, i don't care too much about them supposedly using samples in the wrong way. BUT: that photo of the guy with his controller unplugged is quite damming. and i think it's only fair that some twats like myself poke a little fun at them. if i'm wrong and it was unplugged and the live gig faked because of some technical problem. i take it all back. but if they normally fake their sets, sorry, no, phuck em. |

Human nature. How anyone can slate any successful act that get a crowd rocking confuses me. I don't like justice i don't like deadmau5's music much really, but they get a crowd growing and also have great business sense and can provide the goods when it is asked of them and for that i respect them a lot. It is after all a music BUSINESS. People should try and say "i personally dont like it" rather than "that person is crap". I've been guilty of it myself but really try to never slate an artist. A lot of it is jealousy as well. You have to be fkin me for anyone on this forum to not want to have the same success with their music as some of these artists do with theirs. Yeh id hate to get paid to play to big crowds and write music all day and work with some really cool people in some really nice studios. Ben

Dude back up that horse, you misunderstood what I meant. If the question was for instance about what gear Crystal Method used that would have a different reaction. I don;t know about swan808 but my first language is english and french in fact I sometimes randomly twist the two. Quote:
