Maybe we're just saying it how we see it too?

so, you should probably be able to recreate their "signature" sound using a couple of cardboard boxes. Or maybe some Behringer monitors

They are just a punk rock/garage band dickin around with samplers instead of guitars.

That being said, whats the big deal?

They are nothing new and musically do not push any sort of

boundary.

The only reason they are as big as they are is the hype machine that propels them beyond what they actually deserve.

They are really the electronic music equivalent of Kanya West.

I vaguely remember an interview I read with Justice and they said that they got their main drum samples for the album from Soulwax when they were given all the components to remix one of their songs (N.Y. Excuse I think). They were processed samples of the Oberheim DMX. They said they kept the samples and then used them on their album.

Gizmodo - Audiophile Deathmatch: Monster Cables vs. a Coat Hanger - Audio

Simple. They use coat hangers since audiophiles can't tell the difference.

Of course I've also heard they use this!

BTW. it looks like a pretty good mastering side chain.
The wood will make it sound natural like an acoustical guitar and the side chain will give it that nice metalic shine (when polished).

Ok dear slutz, it is my fault actually, "Justice snare" wasn't a good title for this thread.
I understand that some people doesn't like Justice and as I said before, I'm not a big fan of Justice too.
BUT, even if you do not like Justice, you got to respect people who likes their music.
Besides, the more we speak about them, the more they will be known.
So my post did not aim at Justice in particular, it was just on a f*****g snare!(my mistake...)
I just wanted to find the good example, that's all.
Anyway, thank you so much for your replies (even in french, merci mec!)

It is crazy how people react to Justice!

I want to know where to get the processor that Justice use to make their sound so fatigueing to listen to that I had to listen to the album one track at a time.

you will notice if you hang out around here, no one will help you, they mostly make jokes and pictures to mock new people. i like justice, i like their sound, and i could care less that they don't plug in their midi controllers. i don't care that they sampled other peoples music.

waters of nazareth is an awesome dance song, denying that is denying dance music.

back on topic.

i think that that snare sounds like really ****ed up filtered white noise that has been compressed. they either compressed the drum mix to hell, or they used a side chain, or they used logic's enveloper, which can make EVERYTHING PUMP LIKE MAD!

MAXU4U, make crazy dance music, and prove these people wrong with your shiny platinum records!

STOP MAKING FUN OF PEOPLE BASED ON THEIR PERSONAL TASTE, OR BECAUSE THEY ASKED A QUESTION YOU THINK IS STUPID. IT MAKES YOU COME OFF LIKE A BUNCH OF JERKS.

First they heavily process using a Shitcorp Compressorizor 3000 on full.

Then, to add back some special sparkle in the top end, they put the beats through the new API Bogwash, which is a type of turd polisher using toilet water to shine up the audio poop:

These are still in the beta stage so you might not have heard of them before.

What makes you think anyone is making fun of the poster?

I think you are assuming too much.........

I for one am just having fun, thats what I like to do with my life.

Seems you like to be serious, good for you, I hope that's working out for you.

I doubt it is though as you end up shouting in your post and calling people jerks, you might want to lighten up, stress is a killer

Who ever said anyone had to be serious?

Oh that's right, fascists did.

I think their may be a lesson there somewhere.

I thought that the OP was answered.
You cannot get that snare sound from white noise alone.
There are a couple of snare sounds being layered throughout the tune.

There is a bit where they use the noise tho.
But to make it you'd need to put noise in a synth/sampler and then play with the decay/release depending on how you programmed it.
THEN put it through compression.

Oh come on people, instead of speculating forever I think we should just ask their engineer (guy comes from a hip-hop background, hence the beats):

complete hogwash - come on Revstate, dont be such a wining baby

there are hundreds of threads where the OP or new memebres has been treated to a wealth of info fromt he word go,

its just that Justice is probably the only band that that is like an open invitation to have a laugh with,

its a forum tradition, so please if you are a new member - join in the fun, and be safe knowing that you will get a serious response to a serious quesiton.

here's all the proof you need -
You have 2 Osc and you detune them..than what?
