for programing synth the MPC 4000 stands by itself against other MPC's.
Its modulation matrix is really easy and has everything a exs24 has. And the 4000 can do 96khz, wick is another fidelity or sound option. Down sampling, time streching its like a z8 and a MPC together.

Couldn't help myself, I'm really happy with this sampler.

Should've just left her there and kept the MPC. Think which is more useful: a badass sampler, or something with multiple inputs but no way to get the output you want?

Yes. I love them. The sampling add on is neccesary to get the most out of it. Built in sounds are fun, but with the sampling, it's amazing.

The trigger options are incredible. Each of the 8 parts can be triggered at different loop lengths and rhythms, so you end up with totally complex patterns. MASSES of inputs, outputs and features.

An absolute monster

Now that looks badass! Never heard from that one.

what do you mean about can be triggered at different loop lenghts..? Am I missing something here or why is this so special..?

yep badass

no apsolutly no midi timing isues here ;)

second
you can preprogram sequences wich with one shot from midi, PAD on ADD one or external pad you can trigger

UP to 8 sequences at the same time ...cool haaaa

what is special about ADD ONE

this beast can be anything you want

SYNTH, SAMPLER, SEQUENCE, MIDI 2 TRIGGER, TRIGGER TO MIDI,

you want simmons sounds, lo fi SP 1200, FAT PUNCHY, LINN or 808, or ever sick clicks or hi end ROCK OR DANCE DRUMS...THIS WILL STAY ON TOP of all others

I LOVE IT OVER MY 808,909, linn, DMX and SDS!!!!

Im so happy that I got it on time this baby will soon be really expensive!!!!!

I recaped it and this is ALL YOU EVER NEED FOR PRO DRUMING

FAT CEM VCF VCA...same one is in EIII ...
and combination of 12 Bit is BIIIIG

sometimes much better than my EIII

you have to try one to realize that DFYNACORD MADE MAYBE ONE OF BEST SAMPLING DEVICES EVER

ALSO GOES FOR ADD TWO and ADS......

NO RESONANCE ON THIS SECOND SAMPLERS OF DYNACORD

but BIIIIG sound is what counts

Nice Thread!
If I get a chance tomorrow I'll make a video!

Each sound has a repeat function so when it gets a trigger it will repeat a certain number of times. You can decide how many repeats, the tempo of the repeat and the start time for that pad.
It was thought of as a drum sampler for drummers and this function would mean that a drummer hits one pad and a drum roll appears or a snare roll or a whole percussion section, but of course you can program it to make beats etc.
You have control of pitch, pan, vcf, vca from envelops, lfo etc and do all sorts of weird stuff like having the same sound on 2 pads slightly detuned for flange but have them panning in opposite directions for some mad flanged toms or cymbals etc.
The filters are as roginator says BADASS. I have seen them cheap and I have seen them expensive. Luck of the draw, but to me, they are worth their weight in gold. The buttons are bit glitchy though...
I also have the ADS 2 sampler which has no filter. Designed by oberheim I believe, which makes it even odder, but it does sound great and has some nice features.

Hey Dlmorley

I had same expirience with buttons...you need 1 hour to clean them...also I cleaned output selector switches on BACK ...EASY

I used TESLANOL OSCILIN T6 SPREY...great for this kind of cleaning metal cotacts..ITS aerosol so I use it also for cleaning my bantam patchbays and PUSHSWITCHES IN MCI MIXING DESK

WORX 100%

most of folx who worked on ADD samplers are from OBERHEIM CREW....;)
here is a link to guy who designed ADD Disk is from Oberheim Team

http://www.electrongate.com/wpd/page8.html

same guy designed prommer at OBERHEIM

DLmorley you have PM

BTW I tried S 900 sound disks on ADS K and THAT SOUNDED much better and biger than s 900

I have never heard of that Dynacord machine until now. It looks like it would be some stupid amounts of fun, though! Too bad there aren't any on eBay.

Rich
I know what you are talking about.
I spent thousands on a maxed out S6000 and bought a E5000 Ultra.

the S6000 had a nice remote screen, other then that, it was horrible (used it maybe for 10 hours in 3 years).
the E5000 has great filters and algos, plus it's fun to work with.

Here is a video of the ADD One

and here's is my text

A small example of what the ADD-One can do. The buttons I am pressing are the manual trigger buttons, but it can be triggered by pads, gates or midi.
Each sample (12 bit 50khz) can be filtered (same filters as the Sequential Circuits Studio 440 btw) and modulated in many ways and can be repeated and re-triggered in various ways (hence the rhythmic patterns that play just by hitting one trigger)
Quite possibly the best drum sampler ever.

Hey nice video... especially impressed with those pitched/filtered sounds..

sounds like the grain delays in ableton lieves delay machine...

I can do this also with my E4XT right..? Chord Modulation..didn't get that deep into it yet.. have to check Emus On Acid for wicked modulations..

anyway i find myself loading too much samples in my emu.. I have an analog setup to "limit" myself..and then I load a shitload full of samples in the sampler..kinda stupid

I have to focuss on essential good sounding samples...how are you guys dealing with the "too much samples madness"?

Lots of good producers don't use that much..but instead change them, reamp, compress,layer..yadda yadda

Keep' em comin!

I'd have to say that too much RAM is the killer

I was super productive on my Roland S-750 and it had 18mb of ram (even 2mb for the first year). I did quite some recordings and albums with just that. As a money earner, it was one of my best investments
For me part of the issue is when mega - multi samples came along. It is the old thing of do you want 61 samples pretending to be a piano or do you want to imply a piano, perhaps with a sound that is not realistic, but has character. My theory being that the closer you get to realism, the further you get in some ways. The ear is a complex thing and cannot be tricked easily. However, if you IMPLY a piano it can actually sound more piano like.
My favorite string sound is one I sampled from a JEN string machine. One sample, layered and detuned. Used it on countless recordings and it is to me one of the warmest sounds around. Realistic, no. It sounds little like the JEN thank god and just sounds lush and rich. It uses maybe 1/2 MB of sample Ram
