Thread Starter | What VST-i sampler are you using?
I've been using the NNXT in reason which sucks, and I'm sick of having reason rewired only for that. Ever since I got rid of my Akai S5000 I haven't really bought a great sampler. Any suggestions on a VST-i sampler? edit: I guess what I'm getting at is what ones are working for you and which one to stay away from. Kontakt, Halion or MachFive or any others. |

^^ close bro, I'm downtown. I think I'm leaning towards Kontakt. I like getting messy with my samples and Kontakt seems to be more flexable. plus I'm using Battery 3 and dig the NI stuff. Any objections? |

I like working ITB these days, although I had the USB card on the akai for easy sample uploads, the thing still took forever to setup a great multi. Plus I don't have much outboard gear these days so I'd just be running the 16 outs I had into a mixer and not do much with it. I'll keep doing the ITB sampler thing until next year when I say I'm sick of ITB and go all OoTB, hahah. |

i use Kontakt 2 for multis. I use Phatmatik Pro for chopping up a sample and rearranging/manipulating it.

the stenberg halion does not work with current version of fx-max teleport a verry big down points emu emulator x has lots of z-plane filters but does not sound good to me, havent tested with fx max teleport the KVR: SpeedSoft VSampler - Virtual Instrument speedsoft maz vsampler , with ultra quality setting sound verry nice, does not adds a veil to the sound = its transparent has a chord setting so nice i want to test tascam gigasamper, becouse the kernel engine, some day i also love the www.d-dev.com , sadly only accepts 16-bit samples KVR: Desaster Development Ruction - Virtual Instrument but has the sequencer tracker kind i love there are others but cant remember them, sfz included in sonar its a joke |

I wish i could find a boxed copy of intakt. I would love to run it on one of my older machines.

Gigastudio sucks!!! One day it works, the next moment it doesn't and keep crashing my computer. I changed over to Kontakt and Halion and converted all my Giga sample. Never been happier. I will never get another Giga product. | |

Kontakt 2 – no complaints really. Stable, intuitive and great for sound design. I've been playing around with the EXS24 as well, but it seems to be more limited compared to Kontakt. Though it'll still be more versatile than NNXT. |

Battery3, Intakt, Kontakt3, Reaktor,(I've paid NI a pretty penny) GURU and LiveSlice or is it LiveCut---I can never remember which is the effect and which is the instrument. I use each one for different purposes---just depends on what is needed. Its ashame Intakt was discontinued, but now a logical conclusion after the release of Kontakt3, which absorbed its functions---but still not as streamlined.
