Text-to-Speech and other Robotic Voices

there used to be the coolest software i had and deleted by mistake named Voicebox. it had the same voices as the mac system but you could tune it and speed it up with a couple of sliders and export an Aiff. its no more, anywhere
it was so easy to do those benny benassi and other elektro voice sounds.

anyone have it or know about a smililar software or ways to make robotic voices/speech
besides using a vocoder?

You could go on ebay for $50 and get an atari 4800 with the Texas Instruments speech synth and do it old school That software sounds cool, who made it, do you remember?

Wait is that the analog-x one you had? It's freeware, I think I tried it once.

There is also a Texas Instruments machine that looks like a calculator but has the entire speach contents of the speak and spell machines so you can enter the words you want spoken.

There was a fab bit of software for the commodore 64 called SAM that not only could you enter the dialogue but you could change the sound of the voice saying it too. V clever for 1984

If you are running OSX, you can always open a terminal window and use the "say" command.
