Analog Tape

Hi, I'm thinking about buying an analog tape machine, possibly a Tascam TSR-8 Reel to Reel 2nd hand. I know that analog tape isn't used as much, and Quantegy recently discontinued their products. I'm in Scotland, my question is where can I buy analog tape in the uk?

try ebay or thomann in germany is good for analogue tape - fairly reasonable price as well.

just bought a Revox B77 myself, once it's setup properly for a particular brand of tape it's great for phattening stuff up and taking off the 'digital edge'.

Thomann looks good. If I bought the Tascam TSR-8, how would I work with it? Seen as tape's so expensive is it best to work out the whole track first in your head before puttng anything to tape. I've been thinking of recording synths, samplers to tape then adding more using my sync box to synchronise it with the sequencer. You seem to be just sending the finished tune out to tape, presumably I'd need another type of tape for that. What are the advantages of each method? And what tape should I use for multitracking if I do that? I was thinking of 1/2 inch 8 track.
