Fair price for a ARP 2600?

I am negotiating a price for an ARP 2600. It is a later model that has been retrofitted with the original Moog-designed filter. All the modules work, but all the patch jacks are just about shot, nudging a patch cord often kills the connection. What would be a fair price to offer for the unit?

Thanks,

-Matt

Damn. The later ones have the FATTEST filter IMHO especially for percussive resonant stuff. Awesome. I had a few and the Orange Black one I have now is the best I've heard.
I have no clue why people put Moog ones in there...
Anyway, they seem to be $3000 plus these days or so I think and the orange ones have found favour recently..
If it needs all new sockets etc...hmmm maybe $2000? Hard to say.

I'm in Europe, so not much help, but I think the sockets won't be an issue. A pani though and a certain amount of work...
I'm sure US people will buzz in with more help address wise!

$1800 is probably fine. Maybe try a bit lower (you can go up if need be!)
Does it have a keyboard?

It comes with a 3620 keyboard, the duophonic one with the vibrato LFO and portamento. The seller is asking $2500, which I think is steep given the spotty jacks. It sounds great, but it is a very delicate baby. I'll see if I can talk him down a few hundred.

IMO, do it. If you don't mind restoring the beast, give it some new wires, caps, connectors etc.

If you don't please PM me, because I'm in the mood for ARP. Seriously!
Many thanks beforehand.

Well with keyboard and just the jacks being an issue, I'd say if you get it for anything less than $2500 you did well!
The keyboard is a great one. Worth $500 any day.
Also, if you get the jacks done, then it should last 20 years without issues. Mine is the same model and keyboard. I got it in NEW condition. (it was used by an advertising agency as a prop!)
In the 15 years I have had it, I haven't had one big issue. Just one jack is slightly iffy. That's it.
Anyway, grab it I say (or tell Reptil about it )

If the cosmetic condition is good then $2,500 is not steep imo. You could actually turn a profit if the only thing wrong was the jacks.
