arturia jupiter 8?

just curious, anyone out there ever own a jupiter 8 who's tried the arturia software version. I'm very interested as to how faithful of a reproduction it is soundwise.

I used to own a jupiter 6 and it was hands down my favorite analog synth in my collection. I sold most of my synths years ago and am I living in a dreamland thinking I can buy the arturia jupiter 8 and not be dissapointed after owning the hardware version.

Forget about the real knob turning, I'm just interested in the sound

it's a faithful reproduction. But there is al ot to desired concerning the way Arturia communicates with their clients (or better said the lack of) in order to repair malfunctions and fixes.
Have a look at the forums at arturia.com

Why not try the free demo?

I have a Jupiter 6 and love it! I know that the JP-6 and JP-8 are different beasts, but I couldn't really get into the sound of Arturia's Jupiter 8.

the jupiter 8v is one of the better-sounding host-based softsynths (probably due to its newness).

note the qualifiers and come to your own conclusions about how it compares to the hardware. i used a super-jupiter for comparison, and it's not going on auction!
