Vintage Drum Machine Samples ala 808 909 Linn

I need to find samples of vintage drum machines. Does anyone know of a good sample cd etc. I'm going to be using these sounds for electronic rock. Thanks

there's tons of them on the net for free. just google. also, they show up quite often on the CD's that come w/future music or computer music etc.

but you can pay for them too

most drum sample CD's that have and electronic bend to them have tons of vintage stuff always thrown in.

I still use the sample CD's I've bought years ago called Dance Mega Drums 1 & 2. The "1" has a lot of vintage drum machines, like 90 of them. I mention the "2" because it has the 808 & 909 kicks that I like better, but it is really a collection of hip-hop/house sounds rather than a library of drum machine sounds.

BTW, the FLUX freeware that does bitter/sweet thing can do a good job of accentuating the attack on 808 or 909 kicks in a way you can't with compressors. The sample needs to contain some amount of clicky stuff to start with, though....

Or... the real deal!

Or, go for a real analogue machine, if not an actual 808 or 909, then a Machine drum of Vermona that gives that REAL analogue kick, snap and range of sounds.

hi msrecprod

I have some great vintage drum machine samples...

Product page

TR808 recorded onto a 1/2 inch 2 track valve tape machine...
Most of the Roland TR drum machines recorded into an MPC60...
Vinyl drum hits recorded into an MPC60...
Drum hits from 70's and 80's home keyboards... seriously lo-fi!

I support these formats: Battery 1,2 & 3, Reason Refill, iDrum, Guru and wav packs...

Regards
Hugo
