PLEASE help! Installing AU's on Logic 7

Hi,

I've just purchased East/West Orchestra Gold, and installed it.

It's been registered and all, but I can't see the Kontakt player in my Logic!

Where do you install AU's on your Mac, so Logic can see it?

Appreciate the help!

- Puma

You need to go to your Logic File in your Applications folder & command click Show package contents. Then, look for the AU Manager. This is the interface Logic use's to keep track of all your AU plugins etc. Scroll through the plugins until you find the desired plugin, then make sure the box next it on the left is checked. Click ok & a re-launch should start. If this isn’t the problem, make sure you haven’t installed the VST version, in which case a wrapper will be required. Pm me if you need one. Cheers

Thanks man,

I'll try that!

(PS: I installed both AU & VST just in case - hope that doesn't matter...)

1. Open Logic.

2. Under Preferences choose Start AU Manager.

3. Look for the AU. Is it there? Is it checked?

4. If it is it should be available in the pulldown menu for audio instruments, probably under a Native Instruments sub-menu. If it is there but unchecked it probably says that it failed validation. So you either need an update or you can manually enable it as it may have failed for minor reasons (or not.)

And no, there is no problem having installed AU and VST.

The thing is I can't see it in that AU Manager.

It only shows the 20 standard filters+misc, like: AUDelay, AUFilter, AUHipass, AUNetSend etc.

I've tried to re-scan, and it doesn't show up.....

The only thing I can think of now, is that I've placed the EastWest library the wrong place. Right now its placed in Application Support/Logic/Instrument Samplers....

And it HAS been registered - The Kontakt Standalone player works perfect!

I just can't see it in Logic....

If you use auto update, like I do, you have probably upgraded to 10.4.9. I have not run into any problems yet, but apparently they changed the AU validation, and a lot of people on the net have been reporting problems with some plugins. If you are still on 10.4.8, disregard this. I wish I had read the warnings before I clicked okay on the autoupdate this week.

It is indeed in the wrong place. It should be in Library/Audio/Plugins/Components.

if its a new versino of logic, then you need the upgrades from east west. because logic wont even load them in the AUVAL program cause the AU are old.

you should have version 1.8 of east west stuff. and remeber its a special kotakt player just for Ewastwest stuff located under native instrument plugins in the instrument tracks.

tp see if it loads the AU utility. go to logic prefs menu and youll see the AU manager open it (logic will close) and in the list u should be able to see the orchestral gold, if not, you need the updates.

I found a site for updates (native-instruments.com), but they are more than 3 years old..... So that can't be the updates your reffering to, right gsilbers?

Could you please share the link you used?
Just wanna be sure, so I don't burn down the Mac...

I'm sitting with Logic Pro 7.2.3 on a Mac Pro, trying to get "East West Symphonic Orchestra Gold Edition" to work

I just got an email from Ohm Force stating that their plugs will not currently work in 10.4.9!

Ohm Team

Here's an English translation:

10.4.9 installs a new version of AU Val, with which our plug-ins are incompatible. We did not think that this version would be released before the introduction of 10.5. We wish to put a new version which will pass the validation within 3 weeks. Meanwhile, we advise you not to install 10.4.9. Dsol for drangement, Ohm TEAM

"Dsol pour le drangement"

is short for "desolee pour le derangement" (I don't know how to type accent marks.)
which is basically: "sorry for the inconvenience"
