Reason 3.0.5 macbook live

hello,

im not sure which thread to post this in, so i posted it in a couple.

im trying like crazy to figure out how to get sound out of my macbook and reason for live useage. here is my set up:

macbook 1.8
reason 3.0.5
m-audio keystation 88
alesis io|2 interface

i went into the macs system prefs and switched the audio out to the io|2. i then went to reasons prefs and changed the audio to the io|2, and then the midi...

i am getting a midi signal on the io|2 but no sound (yes, the volume is up).

when i play some keys there are lights popping up on reasons midi in device, channels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc...

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

You might want to look in audio midi devices, it's a little more detailed than the system prefs sound panel. Also try to isolate the problem. Try playing itunes out that sound out and see if you get sound. if not, that's where the problem is. If so, try using something you know will make a sound in reason to see if you can get sound out. If you do, and you are registering midi in, then you know that there is some setting inside reason where the midi isn't hooking up to the synth you're using. Did you go through whatever tutorials came with the software? That would be the first step. The second step (or maybe the first) is to ISOLATE the problem, so you know where to be looking.
