Do you use it exclusively with Max/MSP? Even though I do a lot of work with Max, I was a bit concerned that this might be too limited/specific application to warrant the price. Any thoughts on that?

I really hope that the micromac will be enough close to a minimoog so I won't need to buy one. If so, the odyssey will probably be the last mono I'll buy.

Nothing spectacular. It's a bit sloppy right now, need to reorganize.

Hey piotr, i remember talking to you about the manta a few month back.
I use it mostly "via" maxmsp to play vst-hardware synths. There are a few maxpatches which generate sound aswell but i mostly use the osc>midi patches from jeff.Works and plays fantastic for me.Actually i am waiting for the router programmed by damon holzborn to be ported to pc.Its just a fantastic controller to play synths. The poly at also works really good.
I cant see 1 reason not to get one.The v2(on the right in my pic) also has red leds under each "button" that can be controlled from the computer in addition to the orange ones you know from the original manta.

Yes: it was your post (with your first purchase) that got me interested in it. And your comments now make me want to try it again!
So did you get the v2 only because of the red LEDs or are there any other changes that you were interested in?

It really is a lovely design, and appears to be made with great care.

I cant tell you exactly why i got a second manta. But apart from the red leds added there is no other change(exept for inbuild rubber feet) in the hardware as far as i know.
You should try one out.I am sure jeff can arrange something.
Oh and i agree about the design. Its not only beautifull it also feels really solid.

Thanks everyone!

Entrainer - Not yet. Still figuring out what I need and all that. Im known for over analyzing everything, so this could be a long process!!!

Murph - I should have some shots up soon enough! The last couple days have been a bit odd with the death of a couple friends, once the funeral happens and theres the start of some closure, I will be able to get back into high gear, and get some shots for ya!

Cheers!

Actually, it is a 15 year old Omnirax.....with a custom made desktop 5" high and the same dimensions as the Omnirax's top. I tore apart my Studiologic SL-990 and mounted the keys only on the original desktop so my custom top could slide over them when I am editing and do not need to play. I also mounted the SL-990's pitchbend/mod wheel off to the side. I LOVE IT and have never been happier with my studio desk! I will be building a custom desk from scratch next year based upon my desktop design and will post those pics when that time comes.

Quantum 6, I'm thinking of buying a Remote Zero MKII for a portable rig. I'd prefer it to be as small as possible. Is your MKII sitting on some sort of mount to increase it's angle, or is that how deep the unit is? If so it may be a tad to deep for a suitcase rig.

The Zero comes with an angled stand which can be removed.

when i was growing up my dad didnt encourage me or buy me any instruments as he thought it was stupid to want to learn about studios and synths ..but i can see my child is intrested hes loved going in mine ever since he was born and his face lights up when he plays synths or starts fiddling with my korg ms20 so im gonna encourage him and finance him best i can me and the wife have already started saving money each wek too put in a uni fund so when he leaves school if he wants to goto uni too learn about it we will have to money to send him too it.
same goes for the old studio bits ive put into storage i know in a year or so i can start building him a little set up in his room so he can record when he wants and ill make it easy too set up for him ..he will be the only kid in kindegarten with a better studio that they do at school lol
