Nice setups! I still have to fill up those racks...
(audio & midi cables were not connected yet when the picture was taken)
Btw, I'll be moving to a new apartment soon and will treat a room with basstraps etc. for my gear...

I have an Akai 612 and I've used to have an AX60. I did not know you could connect them together... What's the advatage of doing so? Can you run the S612 through the AX60 filter and envelope?

Basically the sampler gives you 6 digital "oscillators" you can patch into the synth voices, alongsde their analogue oscs.
As well as the AX-60, It also works with the VX-90 synth, which I used to have (and possibly the AX-73, too! anyone got one of these with a 13 pin DIN on the back?)
Samplers you can use are the S612, the S700 (and possibly also the S900?)

Just of curiousity... where did you get that "space odyssey kind of looking" desk? | :-)
It was partly designed by me, partly by the carpenter who built it. It's a custom built acidic lacquered MDF console with edges of upholstered leather. It was a hefty $9.000 but it contains all I need:
Retractable keyboard shelf, LCD monitor is lowered into the console, mouse shelf, lots of rack space, a small desktop (originally a 94 ch digital mixer including a built-in meter bridge), computer iso booth with ventilation, shelves for cables, etc.
As I'm doing quite a bit of mastering nowadays I'm considering changing the setup as this is more geared towards music production.

first post by the way | Congrats on the first post :-)
The amp is a Marantz PM7000 Pro amp which was an award winning amp back then. The new Marantz amps aren't a patch on this one unfortunately, so you need to get it used.
I bought the rack kit from Marantz but I don't know if you can get it still (I think so).

I am so jealous of everyone’s space. My room is way too small. What's next for me? Guess I have to nail my synths to the ceiling…

Yes, I suggest seen-da-sizer goes virtual. Much more efficient on space and they really sound just as good and are as much fun to play. Honest!
I'll have the Wave AND PS3300. Greed is good.
