esp nice when u slowly adjust the delay time while playin ambi pads on something like waldorf XT - for organic background beds
spring reverb on-board isnt that special, there are nicer stand-alones out there for cheap.

I don't "need" an MEK in addition to the PEK, but the MEK is a prototype with serial no 002 and has a board with some very individual soldering by Dave Smith, so it's utterly impossible to let it go
Actually I had the units for some sound programming and betatesting and decided to keep them afterwards. One PER is chained to the Poly Keyboard for an 8 voice unit, while the other PER offers 4 additional voices for weird sequencer sounds. It's a lot of fun |

Hi Source66,
We are humbled and intrigued.
What can you tell us about your modular synths? Some of the black modules look like Aries modules, is that what they are? Rare indeed. And what about those red blue and orange modules? Custom stuff? Nice Korg BTW.

This one is for you Waveterm. So you finally got one?
Can you tell us something about it?
I have just restored mine.
PS: David, no rush with the system disk for the IIx. Mine needs repair first!

Great Pics !
What´s that DIN-connector in the back ?
Also, looks like there are four small toggle-switches next to it. I don´t have those on mine !
My 360A came from a collector in the UK. It is working at times but often will boot up screaming a high pitched noise ( a very nice noise though ). I´m redoind the powersupply first and then we´ll see.....There´s some problem with the multiplexing of the sliders also but I´ve located the problem.

I figured it was a Midi-In with channel assign via switches. Does it do Program Change ?
Should be relatively easy to implement as one changes patches via the keyboard. I take it that it uses the MTC-kit from Doepfer ?
I recieved a batch of components today ! Powersupply caps have been changed, No more crashes during boot, no more 50Hz hum :-). Fader scanning problem fixed too !!
I´m happy ! Next up is replacing all other caps, some regulators and then a general cleaning :-)

WT | nope, it's an old doepher custom jobb. Probably installed when Maurizio (Basic Channel) owned it before me!
Would be nice to have a rundown of what you have changed but we can take that later in private!

Pounce - is the guy on the left reading a user manual? :-P
I can't imagine having that much gear. Jealousy aside - do you use most of it, or do you find that you use the same pieces 90% of the time?

Even the larger guitar centers only carry Romplers it seems. The coolest synth the NYC store had was an Virus and a Minimoog Voyager. I love my voyager and all, but it's not the highlight of a synth collection.
I guess it would be better to say his place looks like Analogue Haven with all those toys!

I've just built a new workstation area for all my synth rackmounts so I thought I'd post them here.
Still need to build a separate unit for all the keyboards, which is going to take a bit more time as there is substantially more weight to them.
Enjoy!

| Question for Pounce.
Hey Pounce, great setup you've got there.
I have a question: in the middle of the wall you have a rack of desktop format modules and drum machines. What's the blue thing with the white buttons right at the top? It's the thing closest to the camera on the second shot.
Cheers!

Lampmeister: You're probably looking at the JP8080 (above the virus in the second shot). Its a rackmount version of the Roland JP8000 with a few improvements...
