Nice studio... | Thanks! Yep, my beloved and hated d8b. At current prices between $1-2K it is an outstanding piece of equipment. Plenty of channels, total recall, moving faders, on-board effects. Mine has two UFX, two MFX cards, and all of the IO slots are in use. The only thing I don't have is the word clock upgrade.
At the moment I am enjoying the d8b, but I am guessing not for long. I am having my ups and downs with it. Once I get to it, I will replace the Mackie with a 32-channel Soundtracs Topaz. But before I can do that, I need to build a custom desk for it. The mixer also needs a bit of maintenance too. All in all I am looking forward in having an analog mixer in my studio again. I am a huge fan of the Topaz EQ.

Well, I can't compete with most of you but here goes anyway. Hopefully the img link works...
other gear not in the picture, Yamaha cs-40m, Microkorg, Yamaha dx7IID, Chroma Polaris, various guitars and a bunch of old 90's rack synths I don't use any more.

Love that room Scott.
And don't worry about competing with people here, the gear you mentioned that wasn't in the photo is more impressive than my whole setup!
Any chance of hearing some music?

Not just drum sounds either. It's basically just an analog synthesizer. Great for bass and synths as well. Check out some of dreamprobe's videos on youtube to hear some of the sounds he created with it.

Thanks Flat! | I knew someone on this forum had one, but forgot it was you.
I hope you have it insured. Thats one of the few synths that are becoming close to priceless.

Nope... Korg PS3300...
I played on a Korg PS3200 and it seemed like a really cool synth... bet that one is even better...
I saw the pricelist for Korg stuff in Spain and noticed the PS3200 wasn't much more expensive than the Korg Trident MkII (like 15% more or something like that), which made me wonder... how came that they didn't sell more of those?
Or was that a blown out price... cause it seems a pretty small difference considering the difference in specs between those two...
I have a Korg Trident (the original) and think it's a great synth, but would rather have a Korg PS3200 much more...

That's not always the case, but I think in the Korg's case, it likely is |

Worlds apart. | I dare to say, a Trident is going to way more useful than a 3200. They (3200s) are a bit limited what they can do. It is a nice sounding string machine though. I wouldn't mind getting a Trident myself, but I don't really need more synths. |

I actually know of one 3200 (not far away). But considering the number of boards and components inside makes me wonder...

After that I did all of the repairs myself. I replaced all of the edge connectors, and a lot of the octave divider chips. I found a good source of replacement chips, and now have a few spares. Quote:

I estimated that I re-soldered around 800 wires when replacing all of the edge connectors.
Primarily you own a PS series synths for nostalgia rather than a work horse. It is a piece of synthesizer history. Unless you are companioned about these and their sound, I do not recommend buying them. Anyhow, I know you Don do a lot of repairs yourself. For the right price get a 3200. Used as string synthesizer they are unparalleled. Edit: I just remembered, there is a 3300 restoration (not mine) page on flicker: http://www.flickr.com/photos/6202735...7629160226105/

Sure, you can find my music on youtube, username scott2eh. Or they are linked on my site Scott From Canada - Official Site! . I don't know what to say about the music. I'm just trying to, as they say, find myself. Hopefully my stuff is, if not good, at least unique! The new stuff I'm working on is better imo but I feel I have a long way to go.
More pictures on flicker Flickr: scott3eh's Photostream
Also, if anyone has any clues about my sick OB-8 I left a post somewhere on this site.. under synth repairs I guess. I'm still pretty new here, and I try to spend most of my spare time recording. Wish I had more time and energy. Getting old sucks!!
