holy serge, batman.. if this ain't the most beautiful and inviting setup ive seen in a long while .. the desk, design, the ergonomics.. perfect
tho, you seriously need more polysynths to call yourself a serious musician.. um.. i mean gearslut/geek
PS what is that desk... DIY or bought? do tell..
and a combi rack for serge and horisontal octatrack... model?
Thanks! I put some work into getting the ergonomics right with the desk, fairly happy with how it turned out. It's DIY btw, from MDF and aluminium. The sound proofing of the room is another story though... Not there yet.

Polysynth; The Monomachine is more polysynth than I'll ever need. I do have a thing for older analog synths and I've been through quite a few. But I've realized I'm less creative with the traditional "synth with keys" approach than with the "synth-with-comprehensive-sequencer" approach. So the Monomachine is perfect for me. This is an all-Monomachine track I did a while ago:
Sorry, forgot your last question; not sure tbh, but I bent the rack profiles myself to get the L-shape. Here's how it looked originally (on the left):
hi
here are some pics of my final setup (i think i didn't change it for at least two years). and btw if you wan't to reduce your GAS, moving the equipment from one country to another reduced my GAS drastically...
hope you enjoy the pics, im no photographer...

Reason: too much information...
Very nice studio NilsPils!
It shows how something with a relatively small footprint can still be turned into an inspiring environment.
And I love the idea of bending the rack for the L-shape! So simple and effective. Makes you wonder why aren't there racks like that?
p.
awesome, i just went thru all the pictures... interesting how you built the whole thing. and desk design is outstanding. gotta show it to my carpenter, - im going for a new desk w racks too. tho im goin with oil finished wood theme, fits better with the existing atmo.
(PS pics of the little one: moving arround Cat, and messed up with marmalade.. hahaaaaa too cute).

i'll keep it that way for another couple of months to finish my last album and some other projects and then start selling most of it.

Very nice. Love the headphones wall
But why are you going to sell most of it?

Haha, yeah he's a cute little kid.
Thanks to everyone on the compliments - I put in a lot of work in the studio, so it's great to get some appreciation
This is my live rig for our Pink Floyd Tribute band Puls, just rigged up in our rehearsal room for practicing to our last concert
following equipment:
- Andromeda A6
- Nord Electro 2
- Kurzweil PC3X
- Access Virus TI
- Fireface UFX
the news for 2012 is implementing of software...!
- Imac 27" 256GB ssd+1tb7200rpm i7 3,4ghz 16GB RAM with:
* Logic Pro with Mainstage 2
* Omnisphere (first time live... so far so good...)
* Kontakt cinesamples brass and Strings
* ESX24 for .wav sample trigging - Not 110% happy with this solution - any better way to do it in mainstage? I don't have full control of the playback.
++.
I'm considering to use my Axe-FX ultra as well as effectunit for my Andromeda A6
I spent some time reconfiguring, trying to bring more gear that I use right around the console area.
i like it, puts everything with a sequencer within easy reach. i'm about to reshuffle some things in my studio. i'm going to reduce my setup from 18 to 8 synths/drum machines. too much choice is a problem

I don't know - never played one! I was merely trainspotting - at first I thought it was one of the really obscure Roland synths, it's got that styling as well.

I have been moving around a ton because of work lately spending a few months in one place. So I have totally cut down my setup to the bare minimum. (I miss my keyboards and records!)
my last place had a nice view
my old live setup
this setup was just to play with using Beatmaker 2 my master sampler/sequencer. but its not the touch screen MPC I was hoping for.

Nice setup but I think you have a wicked nasty light leak in that camera. You should have the foam replaced, asap.

Frank

Never listen to opinions regarding gear. For every 50 nobodies on Gearslutz that say a piece of gear doesn't sound good enough to cut it, I know at least one somebody who is cutting it in NYC with that piece of gear.
agh.. i wanted a Korg PE2000 for a long time, but they are so rare.. never ever saw one for sale.
One of those really inspiring instruments (for me at least). Useless as a string machine, but has that artificial-orchestra oomph like a Mellotron, although being something completely different.
Hook it up with an Ineko (Phase Delay preset) and you'll be playing thirds and feel like Jarre in no time, promise!
But the instrument in the pic is not a PE-2000 - it's a PE-1000 if I'm not mistaken...
Years ago, before my career took off as a musician I worked as an assistant for a professional photographer and a second shooter on weddings as well as keeping the film backs loaded for the MF cameras on weddings.
It amazes me that technology has progressed to the point where people WANT their photos to look like something that I would have been fired on the spot for!
