I don't have hardware synths though, except for a Korg KARMA and a Virus C (in front of the kb in the pic.) I guess purists will discualify the KORE2 and the ton of synths it controls so I don't count it
WOW!!! Are you flying a spaceship, landing the shuttle or writing music?

wonderful setup, shaft. considering all the other toys you have (including that Thingamagoop!), what are you using the MS2k for?

oh, and is that a Cyberhome DVD player back there?

i love that thing... it's next to the E-tribes for quick knock-em-up arrangements. then if the track's any good i can farm the MIDI out to the 'proper synths'.
things i keep MS for: the DWGS waves, 16-step sequences, vocoder, wierd fx sweeps etc

right on. my microKORG has been my go-to synth right now for about the same reason. these last couple'a days i've put together a few really awesome, grimy, all-hope-is-lost type pads and drones, and i find a use for the DWGS all the time, mostly for some of the brassier waves and some of the synth "voices". i miss my MS2K's mod sequencer though, big-time. i'll get it back someday....

Wow... that's a pretty amazing gear collection.

I am curious to know which monitors are you using?
Are these YAMAHA HS 80M?
And what else?
When do you use each pair?

Thank you very much.

i built a new rack for the modcan and transfered all my modules to modcan cases so it all fits in one ergonomic rack. much happier now. before things were split between 2 modcan case and one cyndustries case. all the modules didn't fit so i have a couple for sale + the cyndustries case and power supply.

anyway - here's the pic w/boss dm-300 and vermona spring verb below

Hey Carbon, how well do those Grado's work for headphone monitoring?

I've got a set of SR-80's I use for listening. It seems like they would be great for just about any kind of use besides in the vocal booth.

Oh, and I love the glass artwork on the floor.

Well, to be fair, I always tidy up before shooting pics. In use, the studio gets pretty messy.

For the "Stumblegum" tune, my Serge looked like this for the rhythm patch:

I'll see what I can do - though there's a wee dram of Lagavulin in those pics.

Very well - like a dream come true!
Wouldn't want to mix with them though. (Or any phones for that matter.)

I think I've got over twenty five balls of wood, metal, glass, shell and porcelain scattered around the studio...not sure why really...

Those are P5 knobs...I liked the look of them better.
Don't have a closer pic at the moment than this one:

Everything got heavy use on the album I've got coming out in the next week or so...it's mostly chill-type music and it's called Shadow. It's the first fully-produced effort from me since 2003 and I'm pretty proud of it. A gearlist-per-track is here: http://carbon111.com/album_covers/shadow_gear.txt

hi. it's been a while since i've been over here, i joined a long time ago and apparently only post twice a year. i'll try to fix that.

anyway, this isn't all that considering some of the studios in this thread, but i thought i should contribute to the thread anyway:

this is the current version. I got a bit tired of "synths" and I've been using more organic sounds from the nord or kontakt. The groove comes from the 999. The blofeld is a recent acquisition and I'm still considering if I'll keep it or not. If fits perfectly on top of the NE 61 though- it makes a great combo for gigs.

but GAS is pushing me to sell both and get a PC3...

Will you include the lo/fi online mp3 version for us, hungry students with JP-8's, OB-X's, etc?

I'd really like to hear your work. But... being a starving sound designer i need to save money for more analogs. I'm sure many of teh-gearslutz DO-UNDERSTAND what i talk about.
