gretsch new classic serie drums are VERY cool. Basically they're like USA custom but mass-produced.

Thanks.
So far they sound great.i've been hitting them alongside an old Ludwig 3 ply kit.
different sounds
they sound big, producing a very a round solid note and have amazing sustian.
way more projection than the luddys..they fill the room.
No doubt the smaller Cravvie bop kits sound sick.
Of course the ludwigs have their own vibe are great but sound a bit boxy and flappy in comparison.

LOVE my v-drums. bought out of necessity 10 years ago when I moved into an apartment. Once you dig into them and get used to it- more infinitely useful than I ever would have thought. I should prabably be careful saying that around here though- there not very slutty. Kinda like saying you like the liquidchannel.

Here's my Ayotte drumsmith set with my '70s Gretsch snare. They mate well together. Sorry, It's a bad picture, but the only one I got. I'm a little out of breath and a little tipsy. And you can't see the floor tom.

What venue is that? Reminds me of Edward Elliot Music Hall at Purdue University. I got to play a talent show there as a kid and this pic just put some MAJOR flashback memories on me.

Smile My Kit

Pearl Masters Custom (maple), which was originally a 7-piece kit, but have since broken it down to a 4-piece:

Kick - 22x18
Snare - 14x7
H Tom - 13x12
L Tom - 16x15

Zildjian Cymbals:

HHat - 14" Top New Beat, A Custom Bottom Hat
Crashes - 15" A Custom, 16" A Custom Fast Crash
Ride - 20" Rock Ride

Wish I had better photos... kinda like owning a hot rod and not taking a photo of it by the lake.

How is the ballad drum.. I have not seen one yet.. does it live up to the hype!
I too have a kit with the Mahogany/Pop shells.. in similar sizes.. Here is a pic..

Also here is a maple shell kit.. both just fantastic drums..

your kits look great! i dig them both. i need to bust out a set up with two high. i just can't get used to the ride not being "right there".

the ballad snare is the shit. i love it. i'll try to post a sample of it.

Very cool.. I haven't had a chance to mess with one up close.. but the concept is great and i love the fact that the legs are there.. so one doesn't need yet another stand!

I mostly play a 4 piece kit.. or 1 up & 2 down.. like you.. but occasionaly I will put up a bonafide 5 piece kit..

I really dig the mahog/poplar drums.. I have played some of the DW classics and they really are spot on sounding tubs..

When I get a minute I will open the samples of your ballad drum.. I need one of those for this weekend!!

I guess I will tune down and tape up the 8x14 Mahog/pop drum.. should get it done.

Thanks for posting..
peace.
