Just got a new, er, old kit. Rogers Big R kit. Very early Big R as it still has the "swivo" era shells...I believe these would be Kellers as they're mid 70s. Maybe Jasper though....one of the two. I've got the 22 kick, 13/14 toms and 16 and 18 floor toms. I guess if this color was good enough for the Ramones, it's good enough for me. This kit is very, very clean. Matches perfectly with my 70s 6.5x14 Supra snare, Paiste 602 hats and vintage Rogers hi hat stand. Love the memorylock hardware too...

later,

m

Chetatkinsdiet, I have that same exact Roger's kit. It was my first kit ever, big R, white shells, 12, 13, 14, 15 rack toms, 16 floor tom and 22 Kick drum.

Now I'm on the search for a matching big kick....24 or 26...I've seen both, and even recently. I'd love to find a 26, but probably get more use out of a 24. That's typically what I play on my other rock kits.

I've got to dig my old Rogers Red Onyx Jazz kit out of the bags for some pics.....it's got the matching snare as well.....love the red onyx color.

Wow, very cool looking. If you have any clips of that kit, I'd like to hear it!

Very deep kick! How deep?

I actually just recorded 2 different Kent Custom Drum sets that we mixed at matched a few of the drums and got some amazing tones and we are just finishing up the mix once that is done I should be able to get something up. That kick on that kit in the picture is only 18x22 but the new kit I am building for myself has a 20x24 inch bass drum and a 8x14 snare drum I can't wait for that.

Here's the drummer from a band we recorded recently sitting behind our studio hire kit. There's nothing special about the kit at all, it's just a cheap (£250) Sonor 506 series with Evans EC2 heads. But it sounds surprisingly good when recorded. And I haven't had to touch the EQ on toms since buying the CAD M179's.

Very unusual- almost no footprint, nothing to stub toes on. The rack tubes hit floor either side of the kick and between the biggest toms, and the hihat holds the other side of the rack up and is itself legless. So's the snare stand :)

it sure sounds slutty...

I got tired of carrying shit from the equipment room just to take a quick pic...so this is all you get. Its an all maple Pork Pie w/ a 24" x 20" kick.

the brass on the set is , 20" UFIP naturual China, 18" Sabian HHX Evolution (killer, seriously), 20" constanople, and a 24" constanople w/ factory rivets, and a set of old, broken hi-hats .

on the ground you A custom's, K custom dark's, UFIPS's and Bosphorus's, including a bosphorus flat ride, and a set of custom bos hats, also the splashes shown include two terry bozia pitched bell splash thingies...and there is more
