ludwig legacy classic

looking for some thoughts on a kit for the studio.

currently on the table is either a 60's-70's set of ludwigs or a ludwig legacy classic,
cymbals will be zildjian k custom dark
snare will be an acrolite.

there doesn't seem to be many reviews around about the legacy series. is this a bad thing? does anyone use them and like them? good for recording etc?

There's a bunch of guys over on drumforum and pressroll that have the Legacy kits.. they rave about them (though, they're all Ludwig fanatics).

Honestly, if I were buying a new high-end kit.. they'd be on my short list.

That said - they're a LOT more expensive than an old Ludwig kit.

thanks bigator,

i'm not a drummer myself but looking at the ludwig kits makes me want to learn so i guess their marketting has done me over.
they seem to fit with the sound i like also.

they are expensive, so will see how the budget ends up but only looking for 3 pieces so the cost wouldn't be crazy when i think of how much the guitars/amps cost.

also looking around at other vintage kits.
