Inspired by muziekschuur and in the spirit of the Show Us Your Kit! thread, this one's dedicated to cymbals only. Pics are the most welcome, lists are ok, too. Have at it! toolskid, you in particular! I don't have any pics yet but I'll add them later. I'll throw out a little teaser description of one cymbal I have. It's a 10" crash/splash/hi hat top (or bottom), over ripe with patina like a banana way past prime time, labeled as a Zildjian Turkish cymbal, signed under the cup by someone perhaps from the Zildjian family (hard to read). I'm guessing it was born in the 1930's or earlier. Sounds like a dry small splash or crash and cuts really well despite being soft, light, thin and old. CRUSTY old. I live in mortal fear of playing it too long and destroying it. |
